General functionality is nearly idiot proof with both the on grill controls and use through the Traeger app. The only problem I had was Amazon messing up the delivery and assembly. Amazon delivered the grill blocking in my driveway and never assembled the grill. I finally had to ask someone to help move the grill and assemble the grill myself. I've been vying for a Traeger for a while. Held off because the models I was most interested in were a bit out of the price range I was willing to expend. Then the Woodridge came along. All the features I wanted, and 1/2 the price. I could not complete the purchase fast enough. From my first cook, this smoker has performed awesome. Only negative I've found so far is the touch pad buttons are sometimes a bit finicky. Some others have pointed that out too. But the results once you get the smoker up and going are going to blow you away. I usually control mine via the smartphone app, though the smoker must be running before you can do that. Only option I missed out on from this cheaper version is the 2 layer cover to help hold in heat. But, I figure if it's that cold I probably don't want to bother smoking anyway. pretty nice grille but definetly not worth the money. does not keep temp well, if you set it for 400 it will go to near 500 before it starts to cool down and even then its all over the place. does smoke well but ive only had it 2 months and it has already errored out on me were i had to turn off main power and unplug it to get it to turn back on. all in all for the money it is not worth 1000. it also eats pellets like a chevy 454 so be prepared to have alot of pellets on hand for long cooks. biggest problem is the temp variance just not accurate at all i think for a grand you would get alot more quality grille and traeger definetly could have done better. only reason for 3 stars and not less is it is easy to clean but thats it. ... show more

This is my first time buying a pellet grill, I’m getting used to the fact that it’s much different than a gas grill. A gas grill is quick and easy and this is a little bit different but in a good way. You have to learn a new method to cook on the bbq. One thing to learn is not to leave the top off for to long, it will lower the temperature really fast. I did a few cooks already and everything enjoys the taste compared to the gas grill. The only reason I’m giving it a four star instead of five star is because this does not have the make now feature like the other versions of the Traegers do. I can’t find a reason why this doesn’t have that feature. It’s just a feature on your app that tells you the time to cook a certain meat and it helps us know the time left you need to finish the meat. I would definitely recommend this to anybody. ... show more
