So far, I’m really impressed with this awning! We purchased it to install over a seating area in our backyard, and even before fully putting it up outside, I can already tell it’s going to work great for the space. The first thing I noticed was how sturdy it feels. The frame and overall construction seem much more solid than I expected, and it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheaply made at all. The material also appears durable and well-suited for outdoor use. Assembly was also fairly easy overall. It definitely took some time to get everything together properly, but the process was straightforward and manageable. Once assembled, everything felt secure and stable. I also really like the clean, modern look of the gray fabric. It has a nice neutral appearance that should work well with most patio or backyard setups without looking bulky or overwhelming. The retractable feature and crank handle seem smooth and easy to operate, which I think will be really convenient once we have it fully installed and in regular use. We haven’t officially mounted it in the backyard just yet, but we’re very excited to use it soon, especially for adding some shade and comfort to our outdoor seating area during the warmer months. Overall, this seems like a very good quality awning for the price, and I’m very happy with it so far!

My unit has some misaligned screw holes that made it a bit tougher to assemble but I was still able to complete the installation and it looks really good, only complaint I have is there is some slight bowing on the uprights due to the pressure fit. It has 0 impact, it's honestly not that noticable, I would rate it at 4.5 if I could. I would purchase again or recommend to anyone who is renting their home.

Poor quality it is more for looks than it is to serve a purpose. The wind is moving it all over the place and it’s not even that windy. I wouldn’t pay 30 bucks for it.

We got this awning to cover our back patio seating area and so far it's been solid. The frame feels sturdy once everything is put together, and the gray fabric looks nice and modern. I like that you can crank it out and adjust the angle pretty easily. Assembly took us about an hour and a half with three people like they recommend. No drilling was a big plus since we didn't want to mess with the house siding. The instructions were decent and the labeled parts helped. One thing to know is it does need good eave support above it or it won't stay stable. We made sure of that before ordering. It's been through a couple light rains and the water resistance seems to work fine. Overall I'm happy with it and would recommend it if you have the right setup for installation. It's made our outdoor space way more usable this summer.

The manual retractable awning from the gotruth store offers a seventy eight inch span of shade that is quite effective for a small balcony or deck area. The water resistant polyester fabric features a substantial thickness that provides a dependable physical barrier against solar radiation and light rain. The mechanical crank handle operates with a smooth motion, allowing for a seamless process when extending or retracting the shade to match the changing position of the sun throughout the day. However, the three star rating reflects a significant failure in the quality control of the shipping department. Upon opening the package, it was clear that several of the included components were used or had been previously handled, which is a major disappointment for a product sold as new. This inconsistency in part condition creates concerns regarding the long term durability of the assembly. Regarding the installation, the current tension pole design requires a very precise setup to remain secure. A highly insightful improvement would be the inclusion of dedicated wall brackets to allow the user to anchor the unit directly into a permanent structure. This would provide the necessary mechanical stability to prevent the frame from shifting during wind gusts and would offer better peace of mind for the user. While the awning is functional and provides good shade, the presence of used parts and the lack of a secondary anchoring system make it a mediocre value for money.

I take care of several feral cats and I have built them weather proof house that are heated for the winter. They work really good but I wanted some extra protection for them to keep the rain and sun off them in the summer and the snow in the winter. I have the houses on my back patio and this awning seemed like the perfect solution. It took two of use a hour or so to assemble and I did have to mount a couple small blocks of wood on the back of the house since there wasn't an overhang or ledge for the top to attach to. I like that it is retractable so I can get it out of the way if it is cooler and want some extra sun but is easy to extend quickly. The cats seem to feel safer and more comfortable and the price is also very reasonable so I can replace it after a year or two if needed.
