Color: Velvet Violet

Features

  • Perfectly Pastel - The MANIC PANIC Creamtone Collection delivers soft and dreamy pastel hair dye shades with less pigment than our vivid hair color dyes, giving a softer look. Velvet Violet is a plush, pastel orchid shade with pink undertones.
  • Fight the Fade - This pastel temporary hair color provides fun, commitment-free color that gradually fades over 2-4 weeks because it does not penetrate the cortex of hair, but simply rests on top of the hair shaft.
  • Best Results on Pre-Lightened Hair - This semi permanent hair dye works best to color hair that is a pre-lightened level 9 or 10 blonde. Use our Flash Lightning Bleach Kit to lighten hair before dyeing for best results.
  • Conditioning and Resealable Formula - This semi-permanent hair color not only adds vibrant pastel tones but also deeply conditions hair, leaving it soft, hydrated, and smooth. The resealable tub allows for multiple uses.
  • The Manic Manifesto - Manic Panic's hair coloring products are always Cruelty Free and Vegan - tested on celebrities, not animals! This vegan hair dye is also ammonia and PPD-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, phthalate-free, and PETA accredited.

  • Nice color
So pretty

  • Works well as a toner
I actually use this as a toner for my at-home bleached blonde hair. If I use it full strength my hair is kind of a bright lilac color where the bleach is strongest. Stays purple for a good week or so. If I dilute with conditioner, I can get it to act just as a brightener to take the brassy color out. When I use it this way, I generally need to re-apply every couple of weeks. I have thin hair but I can get 3-4 applications out if a jar when it is cut with conditioner. 2 when I use full-strength. ... show more

  • Fades fast in lots of sun
Wish it lasted longer than five days. It’s too sunny in Texas and fades it out real bad. Ah well. It’s cute while it lasts and lots of ppl compliment my hair.

  • did not work. not worth the time or money
i bought the pastel purple to do my daughter's hair. she has light blond hair so i figured it would work well in it. yeah..... no. we did just the tips first to see how it turned out. i followed all of the directions and what actually took was a very light, almost imperceptible pink. definitely not purple, and not anywhere close to what the pictures show. it washed out after one shampoo. i got the teal to do in my own hair. i made sure to use plenty of the goop and left for 45 minutes. my hair is really dark blond so i knew it wouldnt be a bright teal or anything. i actually kind of wanted a dark teal. but what it left was pretty blah looking. definitely will not be buying this brand again. ... show more

  • Washed out before the day of reveal, still have leftovers
You need to sleep in a shower cap to let it sit. Creamer of manic panic washes out after three days with only one shower. I have to leave this stuff in for a long 12 hours minimum to get it to stay. Yes, I fallowed the directions. To make it work you not only need your hair white first but also leave it in for 18 if you have some blonde left. I found that 24 works best, but that's a long time to keep your hair tied up with a shower cap covering. It's really great, just takes a long time to set in before mildly washing hair with just cold water and no soap. The pastels / creaming of manic panic washes out super easy, about three days to a week max, but the regular Manic panic stays for a week or month depending on what you do. I still have more in the jar, so I can do it again, but every three days it a bit annoying to keep up. If you let it sit for 24 hours, it can easily last / stay in for a good week, just sleep in a shower cap. Don't get me wrong, I really do like this. ... show more

  • This and steel blue are my favorites ever.. even on my dark hair
I dye my hair dark not light so I can't comment if some one is going for pastel, but I use this, blue steal, midnight, and several other colors to create different effects. I love this as a toner for the purple parts of my hair, or purple toned. I layer it underneath. I like coloring my hair but honestly even if you just wanted a more noticeable purple cast than virgin snow this would also be great. Of course being amethyst it has pink/red tones which last longer in hair so if you don't want that look for a blue color. However, I'm sooo happy with this and how much nicer it looks than using pastel mixed with reds or pinks. ... show more

  • Color definitely not as advertised.
Wasn't particularly impressed. I got the velvet violet shade and it came out a almost cotton candy pink (paler pink even than the swatch shown of the pink creamtone shade) on my roots and first 5 inches of hair, but the rest is a splotchy semi cotton candy pink mess. I will be mixing what I have left of it with the electric amethyst shade that I did another part of my hair with in hopes of at least fixing it. ... show more
