Description

Hot Hot Pink Hot Hot Pink is cool-toned medium pink dye that glows vibrantly under blacklights when dyed on the lightest level 10 blonde hair. For deeper pink hues, this can also be used on virgin, unbleached hair. 1. Wash hair with a deep cleansing/clarifying shampoo. Do not condition. 2. Dry hair with a blow dryer to make sure the hair is extremely porous. 3. Put on gloves and apply Manic Panic Hair Color using a tint brush making sure hair is thoroughly saturated. 4. Comb through the hair color to make sure it is evenly applied. The cream may become slightly frothy. 5. Cover hair with a plastic cap and leave on for 30-45 minutes. For more intensity, add heat. 6. Rinse with cool water away from your face and body until water runs clear. Do not shampoo. 7. Style as desired. To prevent color transfer or bleeding, always make sure your hair is completely dry. Pro Tip: Use a hair dryer to evenly apply heat for 5-10 minutes of your processing time. This will help to open up the cuticle and allow the Manic Panic hair color to better penetrate the hair strand. Make sure to allow the hair to cool completely before rinsing out color.

  • Intense Pink 💖
MANIC PANIC Hot Pink hair dye is absolutely amazing! The color is incredibly vibrant and bold, exactly what I was hoping for. It applies smoothly, smells great, and feels gentle on my hair—no dryness or damage at all. The shade comes out rich and eye-catching, especially on pre-lightened hair, and it lasts longer than expected with minimal fading. I also love that it’s vegan and cruelty-free. If you want a fun, intense pink that really pops, this is hands down one of the best hair dyes out there! 💖 ... show more

  • A great pick me up when cash too tight for a pro job
Manic Panic is pretty easy to use. I had my hair cut and colored professionally in early March. By late June it was a hot mess. Cash flow has been at an all time low for months. I just couldn’t afford my colorist and my self esteem was in the toilet. Roots for days in white, silver, grey and ash blonde. I decided to go for it. I didn’t want to attempt to bleach my roots first and Virgin hair doesn’t take the color as well as my many years of porous bleached hair. I just didn’t trust myself to try the flash lightening kit. I haven’t done my own Manic Panic since the 80’s and never attempted to do the back. I have limited neck mobility due to fusing my neck front and back. Did my best and with the exception of some of my multi colored natural hair that didn’t take so well, I’m pretty pleased with the result. Manic left my hair soft and well conditioned. It was pretty fried from the hairspray and product a pixie on fine hair requires to stay put. The color is a little tough to get off the skin, but a little alcohol on a Qtip helped. Haven’t washed it yet, but plan to use cold water. Hopefully it will hold up for a little bit. Next time I might go for the flash bleach first, but would need a friend to help with the back of my head for sure. Easy peasy! And apparently it glows under a black light. Not that I have one, but I would love to see if it actually does! ... show more

  • POPS! Long lasting, fades inconsistently, still looks great, gel on wet hair brings back day 1 life.
First of all, the color was incredibly even, and it's worth noting that I have very thick and coarse hair. I naturally have medium brown hair and I bleached to about a 8-9. This was part laziness, part minimizing damage. It felt risky not going to 10, but the results speak volumes. I spent about 15 minutes massaging it in and combing it through before putting on a plastic cover then sitting in the sun at several angles to get heat exposure to all zones. The final product was an incredibly vibrant magenta that most cameras struggled to capture. It wasn't until I used a dslr with a professional color gamut to capture it. The true color not seen here is #ff20ff. This picture, however, was taken with my phone. Both in indirect and direct light, it pops even more than shown. What this does capture is how even it is. I sent this to my hair stylist and she was blown away at how even it is. The color stay is good, but I don't wash my hair as often as most. Maybe once a week. I've used natural shampoos for years and as a result I don't produce unnatural amounts of oil like if I used harsh shampoos and conditioners that strip the life out of your hair and scalp which trick your scalp into secreting too much oil. The color is still pretty strong even though I have over an inch of roots. Even still, my lighter brown new roots actually look good with the faded color. At this point I'm 2 months into the color and it basically isn't fading fast enough for me to change up my colors. This was my first dye job and I'm blown away. I've yet to see a decent reason to switch to one of many other less expensive or "premium' or "salon" brands. Doubly so since the product line for MP is expansive. One complaint is long lingering smell weeks later if hair is at wet, and one tip is to use heat (sun works great) and to, if you want aggressive color, no color variation, and easily achieved consistency, leave this stuff in undiluted for at least 1.5 hours. If you have a normal scalp, you won't have issues. If you're sensitive, work coconut oil into your hair twice a day for two days prior to coloring to give your scalp a little protection. I have other colors from Punky and Arctic Fox and I'm tempted to skip them and go with Manic again. ... show more

  • tea time
okay it’s only been one day since I’ve dyed my hair but I’ll update this review when I’ve had it in for a while to let you know how it lasts over time. first things first, I have dirty blonde hair that has recently become lighter due to being out in the sun a lot. I also have naturally blonde highlights in my hair. my hair is naturally thinner and my hair is up to the top of my chest in length. the dye took nicely to my hair and I didn’t do anything special except put the dye in my hair (after I hadn’t washed it for a day). I left it in for a few hours, not really watching the clock (probably three hours tops) and it came out really cute. I only dyed the ends of my hair for an ombré sort of look and I also dyed a few strands of my brothers hair as well. I had pretty much 3/4 left of dye. if you’re dyeing your whole head and you have THICK HAIR I would recommend two of these at least. speaking of my brother’s hair, the dye in their hair turned out more of a maroonish color, as their hair is more of a light brown. I would look up a dye chart for this color so you can see what your hair will potentially look like with this dye. the lighter your hair, the more vibrant of a pink it will be. if you aren’t sure about this dye, do a strand test on your hair (not too much so you can cut it off if necessary). I need to have the dye gone by when school starts up for me again, which is why I didn’t dye my whole head. in terms of staining, I put the dye on my hands without gloves (rookie mistake but I didn’t have any handy). It definitely stained but from last night it’s faded a lot so you can barely see it on my fingers (it’s completely gone from my hands). you can wash them a few times and just try to get the top layer off and it’ll come off throughout your natural hand washing after that. If you do struggle taking it off, try rubbing alcohol and dish soap perhaps. I would recommend washing your hair upside down in the shower first so you can make sure the run off of the dye doesn’t splash all over and that you can make sure it mainly goes in the drain at first. then you can flip your head over. I washed my hair until the water ran clear and I had no staining or smudging on my white pillowcases, my white sheets, or my white comforter (though my hair was completely dry upon going to sleep). all in all, I think it looks pretty for summer especially and I would recommend this dye. I gave it 4/5 stars because (even though it worked well for me, my brothers’ hair wasn’t as vibrant). update: so it’s been a while and the hair dye has faded a lot (though I wash my hair every other day and I try to wash with cold water). I’ve touched it up twice because I want it to last a little longer but that’s something to take into consideration. The pink that it fades to is actually quite pretty but again, consider the longevity when you purchase this. ... show more

  • Name doesn't lie - it's HOT hot pink alright...
While I can't comment on how long this one lasts yet (I just used this last night) - the color is gorgeous. I put this as an all over base, and then used Purple Haze to get a nice mermaid effect. I twisted my hair into small sections when I was ready to apply the purple, and then - starting from the underneath and working up - I slathered the purple into my gloved hand and twisted the twists (I hope that makes sense, it's probable easier to see then describe). It came out pretty good for a first timer (I've colored enough over my life, but this is my second foray into fun colors - since I couldn't do them with my old job - and first attempt at multiple colors). Sadly, the purple highlights don't show up as well as I'd like in pictures, but the effect is really nice in person. (and yes, I tried it in black light and it's pretty cool) It came off my skin pretty easily with a damp cloth and light scrubbing - also used a scrubby cloth in the shower on my ears, neck, and along my hair line and I have very little, if any, color spots on my skin. Also isn't as bad for tub staining as purple colors (these two are the only colors I've used to date) but any staining is easily fixed with some tub cleaner with bleach. I rent, so I need to make sure I don't leave a unicorn tub, if you know what I mean ;) ... show more

  • An oldie but a goodie!
I have been ordering this particular product in this color for years. I have gone from just having a strip of dyed hair to completely bleaching the bottom of my hair and dying it this pink. I like it because it is bright and warm at the same time. It has warm undertones, which makes it last longer in my hair after washing (because I have warm undertones in my hair). I get tons of compliments when I go with hot hot pink. I don't find it clashes with anything I wear, yet is is still very noticeable without being neon. I'm not always a pink person, but this color won me over (years ago). The con to this (and any semi permanent dye) is that it washes out more quickly than "permanent" dye. Having tried different brands of semi permanent dye, I find that this brand and color washes out no more quickly than any other brand (splat, special fx, sally hansen, etc.). My advice is go with any color you want - but go with a color that works with your undertone. If you have warm undertones, pick a yellow undertone pink. If you have cool, pick a blue undertone pink. Most brands have a range of shades within their brand, so you can pick one that will match your natural hair's undertones. This will make the dye last longer between washes, and will make the dye more vibrant (in my opinion). If you're not sure if you have warm or cool undertone hair, ask your hairdresser! I am sure they will be glad to help you out, and might even be good to go with to start dipping your toes into hair dye if it's your first time! ... show more

  • Beautiful bright pink
Used this Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink hair dye on my daughter (along with Manic Panic Electric Amethyst and Arctic Fox Purple AF). We love the results! It’s a beautiful, vibrant bright pink that changes the shade of pink with the different tones in my daughter’s hair. I placed a plastic shower cap over her freshly dyed hair & had her leave the dye in pretty much all day (applied around 10am) before rinsing it out (9 hours later) in cold water until it ran clear. I did shampoo and condition her hair also in cold water, and blow dried on the cool setting. Her hair gets so many compliments! Disclaimer: I did prelighten her hair to a pale yellow before applying the color. ... show more

  • I LOVE IT!!
I am in love with this shade of pink. The dye itself works super well and it is highly pigmented. You can save leftovers too! I only dyed my bangs at the moment, so I have plenty left over to touch up. I just redid it as shown in pic 1. Pic 2 is faded from 2 weeks after my first go, sadly... I wash my hair maybe twice a week in cold water with a dye safe shampoo. I believe it faded a lot from dishwashing at work, a lot of water splashes back at me): I just purchased manic panic dye safe shampoo and am hoping it will last longer with it. I have received TONS of compliments related to my hair since dying, I have never loved it more either!! Overall I highly recommend, just beware of the typical fading that semi-permanent colors face :) Either way it's amazing quality at such a low price!! I do not mind redoing my bangs every few weeks bc it keeps coming out beautiful ... show more
