    • Good for the price, but there are caveats.
First of all the product arrived a few days late. Don't know why, but it did. Being a Prime member apparently doesn't have its privileges. But enough about that. The only thing I'm not impressed with is that mount doesn't stay where I mount my iPhone 12 Pro. The magnets seem sturdy enough to hold it, but the mount is loose on the vents. I'm afraid that at some point or another it will dislodge where it's mounted in the vent and fall off. That little vent "clip" that's supposed to give you a sense of peace, doesn't. Maybe it's me, but I did all I could to make sure the mount is firmly attached to the vent and that nut is firmly tightened at the angle desired. The magnets seem to be ok...not really strong nor really weak. They seem to be holding my iPhone ok...for now. But as I said, it's where the mount attaches to the vent is where I think the weakest point exists. The charging cable is just long enough to reach the USB C outlet and my phone does show that it's charging. I haven't gone on long trips to get a sense of how fast it's charging, but time will tell. I find that my phone vibrates/shakes a little if it's not leaning against anything when mounted. Update! I've taken a long trip out of town and the mount fell out of the vent three times! It's frustrating that you pay all this money for a seemingly reliable mount and it doesn't hold up. So suffice it to say, you take your chances when buying stuff like this. Lesson learned. I also noticed that the little arms that clip to the vent are now angled out away from each other which could to be attributed to either heat or plastic fatigue.     • Works when it stays together
Update 6/16/21: it has stopped charging all together. Lasted less than 3 months with minimal use. I loved this charger at first. The magsafe connection was strong so I never worried about my iPhone falling off, it was so easy to install in my vehicle, and the charging worked flawlessly. It was everything I was looking for. That is, until it stopped staying together. The front plate of the charger (with the magnet) just sticks right to the back of my iPhone so strongly that it comes off with my phone regardless of how gently I try to remove it. I have now used superglue on it twice, but if it comes apart again I will be looking for something else. ... show more

    • Great holding power without sagging to air vents or phone screen position.
I’ve used a magnet style phone mount for years. This is the first mount that firmly mounts to the A/C vent fin and most importantly, the design actually prevents the fins from dropping down forcing the air downward; at least on my car design. I love that feature. On top of that the MagSafe feature means I don’t have to physically plug in the phone as the cord is connected to the mount. This is great for long trips when using Waze which can be a battery hog. For local travel I unplug the cord to prevent overcharging the phone. Finally the phone mount adjustment knob is easy to use and the tension is firm enough to hold my new iPhone 12 Max without ever sagging. II can place the phone screen in a perfect position for my use without compromise. Well done! ... show more

I really only used this for holding the phone after a little over a month when I pulled the phone off the magnet the front came off. This company is like the only place I can find that makes this in black. The apple/belkin one is white. I might give it another short or try and glue it back. Other than that it held really good and was easy to take off. ... show more

    • Don’t buy this. It’s a hit or miss.
This is trash. So I read some negative reviews and thought I’d try it myself. I figured if the plastic falls off I’ll glue it back on, but that wasn’t the issue with the one I received. The magnets are weak. I tried it right out of the box to check the strength of the magnetic hold. It barely grabs it and the phone falls out with a slight shake (No case on my phone either). I tried it in the car and just the mere motion of a turn made it fall off. In regards to the charging capabilities it failed as well. My phone recognized it was wirelessly paired with a MagSafe charger, however as soon as the graphic disappears so does the charging. Then a second later the MagSafe charging graphic is shown again. Like you are plugging it in then unplugging it over and over again. ... show more

    • Fell apart after only a few uses

Never dropped. The faceplate simply pulled off with the phone when I went to remove the phone just now. I've used this for less than a week. Apparently it's held in by nothing other than cheap adhesive (no clips, screws, or other retention devices). As you can see from the photo, the magnet ring also came off (uses same cheap adhesive). For thirty dollars, this is absolutely unacceptable. Returned and will be giving another brand a try. P.S. Besides the total failure of the unit, the only other complaint I had while it was still in tact was that there was no telescoping feature on the clamping arm, so this makes installation hard on vents that are set back in the console more like mine (2019 Honda Civic). ... show more

    • No go for Apple CarPlay users
For mounting purposes, this product does a very good job of firm holding even a large iPhone 12 Plus Max. However I knocked off 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1) for both my automobiles (new Audi and new Toyota), CarPlay would not work 2) the power cord is made for USB-C (to plug into the mount). Since CarPlay does not work, I would have appreciated being able to plug directly into the iPhone but cannot use the included charging cord (as the iPhone requires a lightning plug). If a user has no intention of using CarPlay, then this is a good purchase. ... show more

As car mount, it’s pretty good. Easy to install. There was an issue with sturdiness, but installing it at the top most vent slat resolved that (there’s nowhere for it to slip and slide, as it pushes right up against the “roof” of the vent). And being able to grab your phone and go without unplugging it is great. As a charger though? It’s trash. After driving four nearly two hours on a particular trip, it got about 15% charge? If your phone is already at 100%, it’ll stay that way on this. But if the expectation is that you’re in a hurry and this will get your phone to where it needs to be as you get to where you’re going, it won’t. ... show more
