Premium Level 1 and Level 2 charging solutions designed for performance, built for every American electric vehicle. ApexCharger's superchargers blend elegance with functionality and are compatible with all NACS EVs. ApexCharger's Level 1 and Level 2 chargers offer Wi-Fi connectivity, smart control, and secure, fast charging for every EV owner. We don’t guess. We listen. Every product decision is driven by real customer feedback. That’s how real products are made. What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging? The Level when referring to EV charging relates to the voltage being used to charge the vehicle. Level 1 corresponds to standard household outlets, called NEMA 5-15 or NEMA 5-20, those are 120V. Level 2 corresponds to 240V outlets, called NEMA 14-50. What's new on the Gen 3 Mach 3? Gen 3 have a new motherboard, charging connector and NEMA plug temp sensor; automatically reducing power gradually if heat is detected, self-adjusting the max current - no outlet issues, no guesswork. How fast can it charge? Depends on the outlet. Up to 38 miles per hour when plugged into a NEMA 14-50 outlet (Level 2) or up to 5 miles per hour when using a 120V regular outlet (Level 1). Is the equivalent of 9.6KW on Level 2 (240V) and 1.44 KW on Level 1 (120V). Before you ask, we offer five years of product coverage included with every unit. • another good charger from Apex :)
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
In short, this is a useful portable EV charger to keep in the trunk I have had positive experiences with Apex EV-related products so far, so I was happy to try this portable EV charger as well. We already have apex wall chargers installed, but I still think having a portable charger is always a good idea, especially with an EV that may be used by different people in different places. I placed this one in the trunk of the donated EV at the charity where I volunteer. The vehicle is used by multiple volunteers and also helps support less fortunate families, so having a backup charging option in the car itself feels almost necessary. There may be times when the EV is taken somewhere that does not have a wall charger available, and in that situation, having a portable Level 1 and Level 2 charger in the back gives a lot more peace of mind. I also like that this comes with both the NEMA 14-50 plug and the 5-15 adapter, so it can be more flexible depending on what outlet is available. The 25 ft cable is also helpful because outlets are not always located exactly where you need them to be. It doesn't require any installation like a wall charger, and easy to use for anyone who knows how to charge EVs :) So far, it has worked well past 3 months, and everything feels practical for emergency or backup use. I would still prefer a dedicated wall charger for daily home charging, but as an extra charger to keep in the trunk, at a vacation home, or with a shared EV, this is very useful. In sum, I think it is worth having if you already own an EV and want extra charging flexibility. Our charity vehicle, it gives us extra confidence that the EV can still be charged even when it is away from our usual charging setup. ... show more

  • Great All‑Around Portable EV Charger — Powerful, Flexible, and a Really Good Buy
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
After using this MACH 3 Fast 40 Amp Portable EV Charger for several months with my electric vehicle, I’m really impressed with how well it performs for everyday charging — and especially how much value you get for the price. 🔌 Charging Power & Performance This charger delivers up to 40 amps of current when plugged into a proper 240 V NEMA 14‑50 outlet, which translates to fast Level 2 charging — perfect for overnight top‑ups or daily charging at home. The jump from a standard Level 1 (120 V) plug to Level 2 is huge: instead of adding just a few miles of range per hour, it can add up to roughly 25–30+ miles per hour of charging depending on your EV’s capabilities. This sits right in line with what reviewers and spec sheets suggest for 40 A EVSE units. When I use it as a Level 1 (120 V) charger with the included adapter, it works reliably — though, as expected, the charging speed drops to the slower overnight trickle that’s fine for situations where a faster outlet isn’t available. What’s nice is that the unit switches between Level 1 and Level 2 charge modes smoothly, so you don’t need separate chargers for each scenario. 🌧️ Design, Build Quality & Cable The 25 ft cable is long enough to reach from the outlet to the car easily — very handy if your garage or outlet location isn’t right next to your parking spot. The charger's body feels solid and well‑built, and the included holder for the cable helps keep everything neat rather than having long cable loops lying everywhere in the garage. One minor design note: some users mention that the position of the outlet on the charger housing could make it a bit less convenient in certain mounting setups — but in everyday use I haven’t found it to be a deal‑breaker. 🧠 Ease of Use This charger is basically plug‑and‑play once you have the right outlet — you don’t need a complicated installation or a professional electrician (unless you’re adding a dedicated circuit or outlet). It charges as soon as you connect it, and the connection to the car is snug and secure. One reviewer specifically called out how smooth and straightforward the connection was with their vehicle. Tech‑savvy users may notice it doesn’t have the high‑end app control or flashy LED interface some premium units offer — but it has every essential feature most EV owners need, and that simplicity is actually part of its appeal. 📊 Real‑World Reliability Across multiple reviews, owners describe it as dependable and sturdy, and some buyers highlight that customer support is responsive if they need help — which is reassuring for a product you’ll rely on daily. There’s also a warranty that gives peace of mind in case of early issues. One real‑world owner report noted how the charger performed well in both Level 1 and Level 2 setups, with smooth charging sessions and robust cord quality that didn’t feel flimsy. 💰 Value & Verdict Probably the strongest point about this charger is that it represents a good buy within its class. You’re getting Level‑2 performance at a price that’s noticeably lower than many hardwired or wall‑mounted chargers, plus the portability to take it on the road or between residences if needed. While it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the most expensive EVSE stations, its combination of power, portability, and build quality makes it easy to recommend for most EV owners who want reliable everyday home charging without breaking the bank. 🔎 Who This Is Best For ✅ EV owners who want fast Level 2 charging at home without a dedicated wall unit ✅ People who need a portable charger — for travel, a second home, or shared garages ✅ Anyone who likes flexibility (Level 1 + Level 2 from the same unit) ✅ Budget‑minded buyers who still want a 40 amp charging performance ... show more

  • Great level 1 and 2 EV charger.
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
I recently moved to the Midwest, therefore as a precaution against excessive temperatures and humidity, I chose to wrap electric tape where level 1 cable mates with level 2. This charger is great. The automobile charges at a constant 9.6 amps, and I have a 50 amp outlet. As long as you have an adaptor for that outlet, you can use almost any outlet thanks to the flexibility to choose the various charging levels. A NACS adaptor is included with the package. Future cars will require it, but many EVs now do not. This device functions flawlessly, provides a wealth of information, and is simple to use. It is also reasonably priced. As for durability, I am not sure yet. I purchased this to use at our summer house as a portable charger. I had only given it a quick test before leaving, and I had forgotten the instruction manuals while I was away. I was able to connect the charger to wifi and the Smart Life app with ease thanks to the prompt response from Apex tech support. I truly like this charger's ability to function as a Level 1 charger at a slower speed while charging at 40 amps as a Level 2 charger. It functioned flawlessly as a plug-and-play charger when I connected it into our 50 amp outlet. These prerequisites appeared to be met by this Apex Charger Mach 3, but I had to guess what I would get because of its short listing and lack of reviews. It was particularly odd that the Mach 3 was only available for purchase on Amazon; even Apex's own website only displays the Mach 1 and Mach 2, all of which are priced significantly higher than this listing's $170. I had the idea that this was either a promotional sale to start reviews for their new model line or that the discount was given to me in exchange for handling the first units off the production line, which would be improved when my issues led to changes for subsequent products. Despite the high current, this product was among the cheapest on Amazon. The best deal available on the market at the moment. This charger's features are unparalleled, and its construction is incredibly durable. No other manufacturers that I have noticed also provide a Tesla adapter. You can choose from 120v 8A/12A to 240v 40a with this charger. This is an excellent charger to have if you are renting and can not actually install a fixed charger, if you are traveling or staying somewhere new, etc. I have a hardwired charger in my garage, but I have always desired a powerful charger in the trunk of my car. Unlike many other new EVs, the EV6 does not come with a factory charger. ... show more

  • It can charge my Ford F150 Lightning and Tesla Model X.
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
I had only given it a quick test before leaving, and I had forgotten the instruction manuals while I was away. I was able to connect the charger to wifi and the Smart Life app with ease thanks to the prompt response from Apex tech support. I truly like this charger's ability to function as a Level 1 charger at a slower speed while charging at 40 amps as a Level 2 charger. It functioned flawlessly as a plug-and-play charger when I connected it into our RV's 50 amp outlet. The original cable that came with the car when it was new was missing from the used car dealer, thus I required a portable Level 1 and 2. As a level 1, we tested this at home, and it was simple to operate and had a clear display, which is helpful because the app was unable to locate the object. The charging speed was only about three miles per hour, but that was what I anticipated. The bag is really helpful, the cord length was excellent, and it was very strong. Excellent connections were made to the vehicle, and removal went smoothly. Since it is still cool outside in the Northeast in March, I can not say if it becomes too hot. When I have an opportunity to use it as a Level 2. I connected the charger into the 240V, 50A outlet before mounting it. I hooked it into our Ford F150 Lightning pickup truck as it appeared to be functioning with the default current set to 40 amps. The Ford App said the truck was receiving 8.8 kW, but the charger's display showed that the current gradually increased over the course of roughly a minute and leveled off at 9.1 kW. The 9.8 kW that would be anticipated from 40 amps at 240 volts is slightly less than this. Nevertheless, a measurement of the voltage the charger received is included in the display on this charger. When there was no load, the voltage was 246 volts; when the truck had a 9.1 kW load, it was 240 volts. Therefore, I believe that the charger might be set up to not reduce the input voltage to less than 240 volts. Regretfully, our main breaker panel, which has a service of 200 amps—roughly the best case scenario for optimizing electricity to the charger—was only a few feet away from the outlet it was plugged into. The charging speed can be readily adjusted and functions effectively. Conveniently, the cord length is longer than the one I had with my previous automobile. The cost is far less than the manufacturer's desired pricing for a similar charger cord. Customer care was quite quick to respond to my issue regarding the software for the phone app, which I have not yet utilized. ... show more

  • Works great, and NACS is more than Tesla
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
There are precisely zero Tesla on my property these days, thankfully. There used to be multiple, thanks to my property being 500 acres, containing multiple houses and dozens of family members, but now they are all gone. However, quite a few car companies are switching over to NACS. That is true of my cousin's Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is what this is usually charging. It has an NACS port. Apparently, Hyundai is switching over. That's the main reason I got this, considering my wife will probably be getting another one, soon enough. For now, it charges my cousin's car for the most part, even if it is in my garage. Speaking of the Ionic 5, it can take a bit more than this can put out, but that was expected. 40a is still plenty though. The important thing is that this charger can actually do it. I have never seen it throttle. It just dumps 40a as long as the car asks for it. Installation was quite easy. Obviously, the charger itself just plugs in. The mounts are easy to install if you can operate a drill. They even come with anchors if you need them. I am rather happy that this is a two button setup. One button just means doing anything takes longer. If I want to change the amperage, there is a dedicated button. It has an app. Another review said something about it not having an app. Sure it does. It's the smart life app. If you need to add it manually for some reason (you shouldn't need to) the EV chargers in the app are under "energy" not "outdoor travel" which is a bit strange. The app works fine and it's a universal app, so you might already have it. It's not just for this company. I don't bother with the app, honestly. I played around with it, it worked, and that was that. This is a plug and play charger. Set it to the amperage you like, and then forget about it. You just plug it in, and unplug it when you're done. Couldn't be easier. I hope this lasts as long as my ApexCharger Mach 2. That one is for my car. It has been sitting there, working without me worrying about it for months now. I have zero complains about that one, because it has never even given me a temporary fault. This one hasn't either, but it hasn't been plugged in for months. If it continues working perfectly like my Mach 2, then it's well worth the price. ... show more

  • Great portable L2 EV charger with a very simple L1 fallback option.
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
This item is a Level 2 EV charger that is hard wired for a NEMA 14/50R 40A 240V outlet. The charging end sports a NACS adapter for connection to your Tesla or other NACS compatible electric vehicle (or adapter). I have personally tried this out on a Tesla Model Y and a Kia Niro EV. It has a "Current" button on it that will allow you to manually adjust the maximum amperage being delivered which makes adjusting it very simple. This device also comes with an adapter cable that allows this unit to function as a Level 2 EV charger by converting the NEMA 14/50R plug down to a standard 110v outlet. This unit also has a nice LED display that clearly indicates the charging voltage and negotiated amperage. As for the NACS handle, it does include the Tesla door open button and it does work well. The product also includes a wall mount kit for the charger and cable. What I like about this unit the most is the fact it's 40A and that it sports a 25 foot charging cable. For our garage setup, I like to back into the garage, but my wife likes to pull in. Regardless of either scenario, this charging cable is plenty long to reach the charge port. I have chosen to rate this product 5-stars. Overall, we really like this unit. I actually don't have a single negative on it. It includes a bag if you are simply looking for something portable. If you are looking for a 40A charger that isn’t hard wired, this one should be on your list to check out. I would definitely recommend. Criteria for Stars: 1 - Total rip off, doesn't perform basic advertised functions or not product advertised. I would likely RETURN and would NEVER recommend. 2 - Not worth the money. Performs some of the basic advertised functions, but likely not all, and ultimately was deemed as not providing enough value for the money spent. I would not buy again, and would likely not recommend unless the buyer had a very specific use case. 3 - It performs the basic functions as advertised, and has some usefulness at the price point, but doesn't work for all of the reasons I purchased. I would likely not buy again, and would only recommend if buyer understood usefulness limitations. 4 - It performs most all of the features I purchased it for, but has limitations. I would likely buy again and would recommend. 5 - Completely as advertised and likely exceeded expectations. Is of high quality and well shipped. I would totally buy again and recommend. ... show more

  • Quality reliable charger
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
This Mach 3 40-amp Level 1 and Level 2 EV charger is a really versatile setup. It works great as a portable option since it comes with a travel bag, but it also includes everything needed for a clean, permanent install in a garage. The mounting accessories make it easy to secure everything in place, and the installation ended up looking neat and organized. Right now, we are using it with a NEMA 5 15 adapter in Level 1 mode, but it is nice knowing that if we ever want faster charging, we can have a NEMA 14 50 outlet installed and keep using the same charger. That flexibility is a big plus. For our setup, we mounted the main unit on one stud and placed the charging connector on the next stud, lining it up right next to the EV charging port. The AC plug feels sturdy with solid cabling, and having the main unit positioned close to the outlet helps reduce strain on the plug. The 25-foot charging cable is a great length and coils neatly around the mounted connector. When not in use, the connector stores easily in the wall mount, which keeps everything tidy. Charging performance has been exactly what we expected, and it has been very reliable overall. It automatically detects when it is plugged into a Level 1 outlet and adjusts the amperage on its own, which makes setup simple. The display shows basic info like charging status and rate, and that same information is available in the app along with additional stats and settings. Being able to adjust output and monitor everything through the app is a feature I use often. There have been a couple of minor display glitches, but charging itself never stopped. A quick unplugging and reconnecting fixed the issue each time without any trouble. Overall, this charger has been rock solid and offers a lot of value compared to other options out there. ... show more

  • Excellent, Well Built, Functional EV Charger in a complete kit thats a Very Good Deal!
Connector Type Used on Cable: Tesla NACS
I have to say that I'm really impressed with this MACH 3 Fast 40 Amp Portable EV charger and I've used many ev chargers in the past. The charger came with everything you need which includes a very nice zippered bag for storage, the ev charger, mounting bracket, screws, instructions, cap for the end of the charger, cleaning cloth, screwdriver, plug adapter for 110V and instructions. The charger is very well made, weatherproof and is very heavy duty and installing it was very simple. It powered up right away without any issues and connected to the app without any problems. This charger also has a 5 year coverage as well as 24/7 lifetime coverage which means this company really stands behind their product in case of any issues. I especially like the app to be able to see and control the charger but you can also control the settings from the main unit and also use the delay feature for charging during off peak hours if your area supports that. One of the nice features of this charger is the ability to open your charging port by simply pressing the button on the charger handle which I prefer rather than doing it from my tesla app. The screen display is very clear and the blue lights on the base that change to green to let you know its working and charging. The charging cable is a very nice 25 foot which allows you to have your ev parked a little further from the base than the normal 18 feet which a lot of chargers have and can be very inconvenient. While charging my ev, I obtained the 9.6kw steadily throughout the charging process which is the max this charger is capable of. Overall, I am extremely impressed and pleased with this EV charger and if you are looking for a portable ev charger, I definitely recommend this one. The price is a very good deal considering everything that you get with this ev charger and the support behind the product. This is definitely a winner! ... show more
