  • Fast, Reliable Charging That’s Perfect for Home and Travel
I’ve been using the SEGUMA Level 2 charger with my 2025 Tesla Model Y and 2025 Model 3 Highland for a few weeks now, and I can confidently say it’s been a major upgrade over the standard charging setup. I have a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed in my garage, and this charger plugged right in with no hassle. It immediately started delivering a solid 40 amps at 240V, and the charging speed is noticeably faster. I can go from around 20 percent to nearly full overnight, which is exactly what I wanted. One of the best features is the NACS connector, which means I don’t need any adapters for my Tesla. The connection is smooth and secure every time. And with most EV manufacturers starting to adopt NACS by 2025, I like knowing this charger will remain useful if we add another electric car to the household. I also really appreciate the ability to adjust the charging current. My home circuit can easily handle 32 amps, so that’s where I usually set it for daily charging. The option to lower it to 10 or 16 amps is great if I ever need to plug into a more limited power source, like at a campsite. The delay timer is something I use almost every night—it’s easy to set and lets me take advantage of off-peak electricity rates, which saves a little money over time. The 25-foot cable is long enough to reach both inside and outside my garage, and the cable feels high quality—thick, flexible, and durable. It doesn’t feel like it’ll crack or get stiff in cold weather. I’ve used it in rain and cooler mornings without issue, and the IP66 rating gives me peace of mind. I also love the inclusion of a carrying case. It’s great for road trips and keeps everything organized in the trunk when I’m not using it. The display screen is a nice touch. At 2.4 inches, it’s large enough to easily read, and it gives me real-time charging info like amperage, voltage, time charged, and battery percentage. The LED indicator around the plug is bright and makes it easy to spot whether it’s charging or if there’s a problem. Overall, this is a solid, well-thought-out EV charger that’s made for real-world use. It’s reliable, travel-ready, user-friendly, and fast, everything I was hoping for in a Level 2 home and mobile charger. If you own a Tesla or plan to switch to a NACS-compatible vehicle soon, this charger is an excellent investment. ... show more

  • High quality, great performing Tesla charger with 40A capability, 25ft cable and nice travel bag.
This 40Amp EV Charger for Tesla’s by SUGUMA, is a good quality, solid performing charger, with the button to communicate with the Tesla charging port, as well as all the capabilities you should need to keep your EV ready to go. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – This charger looks and feels like a well-made charger, with thick cables and a strong build. The higher level of quality is notable, being nicer than most I’ve tried. It also comes with a pretty good quality travel bags that keeps it all contained in your trunk or frunk if you decide to bring it along. I’d put the overall quality in the upper-middle level of the quality scale for at home EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time. II. Performance – This one has worked great in many ways, with power up to 40A that has 6 adjustable amp levels to select what you need. The screen is nice to have, providing helpful information, such as timer, current, voltage, power used and temperature. It has 10 safety features to help monitor when you’re not. The 25-foot cable is on the longer side of the available cables and great to have if you can’t park next to the charger. It uniquely has a button on the charging end like the factory Tesla charger that will communicate with the car to open the charging port and unlock it when removing. It’ll directly connect to Tesla’s and has a storage bracket you can mount to the wall for the charging tip, as well as one for the main unit. It feels like this product is currently offering a good value considering the quality, performance, durability and what you’re getting Overall, this is a fantastic option for Tesla owners, that offers good charging abilities, with notable quality, convenience and all the features needed most might need. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision. ... show more

  • "Spare Charger Showdown: Tesla vs. The Newcomer (Is More Always Better?)"
As a household with two Teslas – the only choice for EVs after several non-Tesla cars – we found ourselves needing a spare portable charger. While our new Model Y came with a Tesla mobile connector, I wanted an additional one to keep in the car for on-the-go charging needs. This particular charger caught my eye due to its compact design and included accessories: a carrying bag, a wall holder, a cable organizer, and a built-in display. These are all definite pluses compared to the standard Tesla charger. It also boasts an extra 8 amps of power, delivering 1920W more than the Tesla unit. However, there are trade-offs. The Tesla charger features a thinner, more flexible cable that's easier to coil and manage. Crucially, it also includes a 120V NEMA 5-15 adapter, which is invaluable since NEMA 14-50 outlets aren't always easy to find when traveling (at least, never found one in my experience). This third-party charger also comes with a higher price tag – about $50 more than the Tesla charger. Considering its primary use as a portable, "just-in-case" charger, many of the included accessories become less essential. While the display could be useful if you didn't own a Tesla (which provides charging information through the car), the extra 8 amps don't quite justify the $50 premium for my needs. I also have firsthand experience with the Tesla charger's durability in harsh conditions like snow, rain, and cold; the longevity of this new charger remains to be seen. In my opinion, without Wi-Fi capabilities (which, again, are redundant if you have a Tesla), the appropriate price point for this charger would be closer to $199. As it stands, it doesn't quite earn its higher price tag. ... show more
