  • Outstanding Level-2 charger!
Size: 48A, Nema 14-50 Plug
While I have only been using my new NexCyber Level 2 EV Charger for about a week, I am very impressed with its design and how fast it charges my EV. The housing is well constructed and durable. The functions and feature set are intuitive and very useful (especially the status app and timer). In the app, you can fully control the charger, which is ideal if you have time-variable electric rates where you live. The 25 foot charging cable length is great for indoor unit mounting inside an exterior exposed wall of your garage, to charge your EV in the driveway. The charging cable is constructed with 8 AWG wiring, the right size for 50 amps, but still pliable enough to coil easily. The holding cradle is a nice addition as well, since the cap on several of my previous chargers broke off. For this unit, it does come with a dust cap as well, I just looped it around the cable and cable-tied it out of the way (since I am using the cradle). I am currently using it on the full 40 amp setting (on a 50 amp circuit) to charge my Chevy Equinox. Installation was a breeze, especially with the provided mounting template. I mounted it adjacent to my old 32 amp charger (also on a separate 50 amp circuit), since both my vehicles are EVs. When I compared the charging rate between chargers, I achieved a charging increase of 12 miles per hour (17 miles per charging hour on the 32 amp vs 29 miles per charging hour on the 40 amp NexCyber Level 2 EV Charger), as shown in the pics. Since I am on call for my work role, having a super fast home charger is ideal, as I could arrive home after work and then have to head right back in in a few hours. I highly recommend this charger. ... show more

  • Excellent Home Charging Solution: Fast, Smart, and Reliable!
Size: 48A, Nema 14-50 Plug
The "Plug-Play" design with the NEMA 14-50p plug makes initial setup incredibly straightforward if you already have the correct outlet (50 AMP). For those considering hardwiring for a cleaner look or specific electrical requirements, it offers that flexibility too. The 25ft cable is a game-changer, providing ample reach to my car no matter how I park in the garage. The J1772 connector is standard, universally compatible with most EVs, and feels secure and durable when plugged into the car. 48 AMP charger gives ability to charge faster (overnight at home) than Level1 and other lower capability chargers (16 and 32 amp). This Level 2 EV Charger is a fantastic investment for any EV owner looking for a high-performance, smart, and reliable home charging station. It combines powerful charging capabilities with modern app control, all backed by safety certifications. It makes managing my EV's charging needs effortless and efficient. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Wow is this fast
Size: 48A, Nema 14-50 Plug
This NexCyber charger has everything I was looking for. It works with the SmartHome app over WiFi, so I can set delayed charging and charging speed from everywhere. Nice long 25 foot cord. The cord is easy to maneuver but I didn't notice any heat even at higher amps. Overall It just feels like quality which is what I was after. I feel safe with this running in my garage. I wouldn't have been comfortable going with cheap or flimsy equipment. I appreciated the bracket it comes with to hang the charger, that and the template made it very easy to mount. The outlet was the same one I'd been using with my older, slower charger so it was really an easy swap. I've had a 2022 Kia EV6 for a few years now and we charge mostly at home. I've been using a 32 amp charger, which was fine when I remembered to plug the car in overnight. It's not exactly speedy. With this 48 amp charger you really notice the 50% faster speed; I saw charging at 11+kw. This should knock hours off a full charge. No regrets from me and I recommend this unit to anyone looking for a fast and safe home charger. ... show more

  • A very nice functional EV charger
Size: 48A, Nema 14-50 Plug
I bought this 48A charger (NEMA 14-50 plug-in model) to replace my portal 32A charger because I wanted something with a more permanent wall mount and a higher amp rating as I hope to buy a full EV to replace my PHEV before the US tax credit ends. My first impression when I took it out of the box was how big the unit is. It's at least twice the size of my portable unit. That's not a bad thing, just you'll definitely want to wall mount this. One advantage of its size is a nice large screen. The charger is heavy and feels well built. The cables are thick and the cable entry points into the unit seem very sturdy. The cable length isn't important to me as the car is always parked near the charger in the garage. Note that the power cable (that plugs into the wall outlet) is on the left-bottom side of the unit meaning that ideally, you'll want to wall mount the unit to the right of your wall outlet (see my picture). If you mount it on the left side of the outlet the power cable will cross with the charging cable under the unit. It seemed like that would still work but I didn't like that layout, so I installed it on the right of outlet even though that wasn't my first preference. Functionally the controls are similar to other chargers and my previous one. That is the unit has only two buttons, TIME and AMPs. Long pressing either button allows you to change the charging amps or delay charging by 1-12 hours which is useful if you are on the day-night rate plan with your utility company. On this 48A unit you can set a range of 24-48A using the buttons on the unit. In the app you can set a much wider range. This uses the Smart Life app. I specifically look for smart devices that use Smart Life because it works well and I don't like having many apps that all do the same thing but for different devices. It was very easy to add the new charger to the app. After I plugged in the charger and launched the app it auto detected the charger and helped me add it. That couldn't have been much easier. The app seems identical to my previous charger, so my same suggestions still apply. I wish the app was more feature rich, but it does cover all the basics such as the ability to stop & start charging and track daily and monthly energy usage. I've charged my car several times with charging rates between 16A and 32A (the max my PHEV supports) and it's worked perfectly every time. The new EV I hope to buy supports higher at-home level 2 charge rates so I'll be able to take advantage of the higher charging rates that this charger can support. Overall, I'm very happy with this charger and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lower cost yet seemingly well build wall charger without a lot of unneeded features that performs well at its main job - charging your car! ... show more
