I purchased this to charge a 2024 Rivian R1S. I've gone through a few charging cycles and am very happy with it. I have it plugged into an outlet in an old garage and I do not have good service here so I was concerned about over drawing current from the outlet. The Rivian portable charger really heats up my outlet. This one, I love because I was able to turn down the current draw to only 10A. It's slower, but I am in no rush and it doesn't heat up my outlets. I confirmed the proper current draw by using the Rivian mobile app. Also comes with a nice wall mount and a good cover to the charging end. Great length of cable and easy mobile app to use. Overally, very happy and would recommend to any of my EV Friends.

I ran a 50amp EV 230v plug in my garage with 8ga wire on a 40amp breaker. I set this to charge at 38amps and all is well. It runs perfect and charges about 10% every 50min. Nothing gets hot and the app is very nice and easy to use. I would buy this again for a 40amp level 2 charger.

So far seems to be working well but I just put it in yesterday. You can set it plug and charge so it just starts soon as you plug it in or set a timer. It uses the SmartLife app, I already had it for some outlets and current monitor. Soon as I opened the app it asked if I wanted to add a new device, so setup only took 10 seconds. And it will work fine without the app just as a basic charger. Only downside I noticed was the outlet plug is molded onto the cable and not replaceable, so if you need to replace it for a different outlet style you will need to chop it off.

This is a nice EVSC, the positive being the on screen display on the charger that gives a status. It can connect through an app to your smartphone which allows scheduled charging. Charging for a specific length of time or just full charge. It also allows you to lock out use unless you activate the charger from your phone app and also to set the amperage for charging so if you are connected to a 240 volt connected supply you can reduce the amperage to as low as 8 amps from a maximum of 32 amps or if you are using a 110 volt supply that needs to be shared the amperage can be reduced to avoid unexpected breaker activation. The only function missing is that it doesn't allow a cap to charging percentage which would have made it invaluable. Great value though and comes with a 110 volt adapter and a storage case that is nice and compact with a size that is smaller than some lunch coolers. On the negative side the clip to secure that charge plug doesn't raise high enough to allow easy release though in the past few uses it has improved a little so many have just needed breaking in. Comes with wall holster and charge head clip with a built in cable holder and of course a storage bag if you want to use it when travelling. It is a 32 amp unit which more ho.es can accommodate without a new breaker panel upgrade. For most home users still sufficient to keep their EV running for commute to and from work etc.

Solid level 1 charger for EV’s with a J-1772 charging outlet. Don’t expect DC Fast Charge or even Level 2 (240v US) speeds, but if your car sits in your garage or driveway 80% of the time like mine does, and you have a dedicated outdoor or near-outdoor outlet that can supply 12-14 amps, this charger works well to add a decent number of miles overnight to reduce your number of trips to a charging station. No installation per se needed, just plug it into a 110v outlet and you’re on your way.

On the first change the connection head got stuck in the car. The car had to towed to Subaru to have it removed. The dealership found that the retaining clip was to long and would not disengage far enough in order to remove the handle. Once home the handle was placed in to the storage spot on the unit and now it’s stuck again. I did not remove it when returned so not to break it and be told it’s returnable.

This thing is awesome! I wanted a level 2 charger that has a built-in holder for the charging handle, a place to coil the cord, that is UL listed and not too expensive. This one fits the bill, and after several months of trouble free charging, I am a very satisfied customer! Installation was easy, thanks to the supplied fastener template, and it appears to be well made. It also consistently charges my car at the full 32 amps it will take. I was surprised at how much I had to spend for the 50' of 3/4" flex conduit, 6-4 with ground cable and industrial socket I needed for the self install, but at least I already had the 50 amp GFCI breaker from a hot tub I used to have. Btw - I especially like the display that tells me how many amps the charger is delivering in real time. It goes to 32 amps almost immediately.
