I got this because I have a non-tesla EV, a home charger and friends with Tesla vehicles. If one of them comes to stay, I can provide a way for them to charge their vehicle even if they forget to bring their plug-in charger. Having to go to a public charger is a hassle, and why not? The build quality of this adapter is great, it doesn’t take up much room and it’s not very expensive. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

I've ordered a new Tesla and wanted to make sure that I had an adapter on hand in case I need to be able to charge it at a charging station that uses the J1772 plug instead of the NACS plug. So, I ordered this and will keep it in the car for when it's needed. Because Tesla hasn't even told me when I'll be taking delivery of the car (thanks Elon!), I haven't been able to test this in real life, but that said, it does fit nicely on the end of a Level 2 charger I have that uses the J1772 plug. I hand this feels solid and well constructed. Once I get my car and get to put this to use, I will be sure to update my review if it doesn't live up to expectations.

This Level 2 EV is well built, well designed, and has all the features you could need - for a great price. We can use it to charge a Tesla (with the included adapter) or a variety of other EVs. Even though it can be mounted outdoors, we thought it would look great in the garage. Overall, we were impressed and pleased with this well-made EV charger.

I got this to convert my J1772 plug at home to charge my Tesla Model 3 and it works perfectly! It easily slides in/out of the Tesla with no resistance (which is more than I can say about some other adapters I've tried). Despite not having a locking ring, I haven't had any issues with the J1772 plug coming out and leaving behind the adapter. It's worth noting that if you have a Tesla cord organizer where the Tesla plug slides into the front for storage, this adapter is not long enough to latch into the slot (I have yet to find any that are). No complaints about this adapter!
