I thought it wasn't working but it was my own fault. Turns out my car senses it's plugged in even though the charger has no power. So when the car said it was plugged in but there was no charging happening I assumed the charger was broken. Reset the GFCI the charger was plugged into and haven't had any trouble since. Have been using it on 120v for a little over a month now with no issues. Will be putting it on a 50 amp 240 v circuit.

Got this for my 2017 volt. Great that it comes with an adapter for 220v. The display is easy to read and nice. The case is also nice for storing. The vehicle cord is heavy and well insulated for outdoor use. Has a cap to cover the plug when not in use. It doesn't seem to charge as well as the factory charger. The factory charger will have my volt charged at 6:45 as set. This charger for some reason won't actually get to a full charge unless I change the car setting to 6:30. Also doesn't actually click into place like the factory one.

We got this because we wanted to have a more portable charger to keep with our 2023 Nissan Ariya. The OEM charger is bulky, and we use that as our main charger anyway. The first thing that I like about this is the ability to switch from different amperages. As a Level 2 charger, this is a little limited, but I think you could conceivably get a 16amp Level 1 charge going if you were on a dedicated 20amp circuit. Still, even though the lower amperages mean much slower charging, it does offer some flexibility if your access to power is somewhat limited. I imagine you could, in an emergency, use this with a portable generator and just keep the amps down. The second thing I like about this is that it actually gives you information on what’s going on from a power perspective. Some cars, like a Tesla will do this, but our Nissan does not. So it’s nice to see what kind of power is being delivered. Finally, the case that it comes in is a nice touch versus the drawstring bags that many chargers come with these days. It keeps the cable and box more secure, and it fits great in the storage under the trunk in the Nissan. The only thing I wish this had was a different plug and adapter. Both stick straight out from the outlet, causing stress on the plug itself and the outlet, as there’s a lot of weight there. This would be much improved if the plugs/adapters were such that they were 90 degrees. I had to improvise a way to keep the strain off the plug and adapter. Overall, this is one of the nicer chargers I’ve come across. To test it, I ran it for 24 hours charging my Ariya from les than 30%. The charger worked well and consistently, drawing the appropriate amount of power and charging the car as expected. It did heat up slightly, but well within what I’d consider to be an acceptable range.
