This item is exactly as described. No display but the functions exactly as described using a built in color coded light system on the face of the charger. Red solid = Emergency stop just twist the red button or push to engage emergency stop. Solid Blue = Ready to plug in. Flashing Green = Charging. Solid Green = Charging Done/Stopped. Setting up is a breeze a few screws in the wall to hang the bracket and the machine slides into the lock while the cable wraps neatly around the charger with a neat dock for the J-Plug The device itself is very small and weighs as much as a collage text book. The cable itself is very easy to move around and the button on the plug gives a definitive click to stop charging when you reach to unplug. The Nema 14-50 outlet looks to be high quality and very thick it seems it can take much more electrical load after a full 3 hours of level 2 charging the plug is not hot, not even luke warm. In the instructions it gives details on how to manually switch settings with switches inside the cover but I have not messed with that as I bought it’s current setting to match my EV’s input recommendation. I look forward to purchasing the updated model with the touch screen and using this as a back up charger while out on the road.

Very impressed with this charger. Easy to install, charges my EV much faster than the standard Level 1. The 25ft cable is long and flexible, and the build quality feels premium. I’ve used it indoors and outdoors without any issues. Great performance and value—highly recommended!

Great 40 Amp Charger for my electric vehicle! This is a perfect home EV charger. It plugs into a standard 240 Volt /50 Amp outlet (NEMA 14-50) and charges at 9.6KW. This is the max energy delivery that you can get from a 50 amp outlet. It charges very quickly, and is easy to use. It mounts nicely on the wall and is a great alternative to a permanently wired in charger.....at a MUCH lower price point. I'm very happy with its performance, and would deinitey buy again.

I really like this charger! This is a very simple easy to use charger. I like that it doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles as my experience is those sorts of things are just more to break. It works as it should when you plug in your car. Gun is very nice and well made. Cord is long enough to easily reach. Install only took a few minutes and was also easy with the provided hardware. I have owned it for a few months now and have had no issues. I would recommend this charger to anyone looking for a level 2 charger in a no-frills package. I believe this charger says it can be installed outside. While I don't doubt it could be, I'd recommend installing it out of the weather. It does deliver the 40 amps charging it promises.
