If I have a Tesla vehicle, can I use it? The VDLPOWERVP EC20 7KW electric vehicle charger is not compatible with Tesla vehicles; you must use a Tesla to J1772 adapter (not included); we also recommend you choose our EC13 and EC23 Tesla ev chargers. Does this ev charger charge fast enough? VDLPOWERVP 7KW ev charger is equipped with a NEMA 14-50 plug, with 220v and 32A, which can achieve 7kw fast charging, which is more than twice as fast as the 3.5kw ev charger. Please ensuere there is a NEMA 14-50 socket, otherwise it will not work. How long is the charging cable? The ev charger has a 20ft charge cable, which is long enough for you to charge without getting tangled.

Do Not Buy!

Do not buy. does not meet NEC standards. The gauge on plug which they omit in the description is very important. NEC standards or rules is that if it's going to be hooked up to a 20 amp it should be 12 gauge the charger is 14 AWG which is too small of a copper inside no wonder it was hot to the touch I'm not going to wait for this to burn the car or my house down. I've used both the 120 and the 240 and they both run hot. I've unplugged and will be returning. Even though it's using 16 amps as it says the gauge inside the plug itself is not up to standard it should be 12 AWG not 14. ... show more

Unsafe fire hazard

This product should be removed. It's pulls too much amperage on a standard outlet and could be a fire hazard. Was pulling 15 amps from a standard outlet which is outside of safety standards.

Quit working after a couple months of use

Worked good for a couple months. It didnt hold up well over time, it quit working completely and will not power on anymore. Can not get product support, it says that it is unavailable.

The quality is very poor, I really dont recommend buying it!

The charging speed is far below the advertised parameters. My electric car fully charges much slower than the original charging station. What's worse is that the plug and the interface are not in close contact, and sometimes there will be a power outage prompt. This is very bad dnt charge...takes very long time to change..all night long and the car didn't meet to 89% . After all I returned the item and it was lose afterwards never received my money back.
