  • Plug & Play
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
When my first charger quit working after several repairs this was a simple low cost plug and play without any setup solution to a level 2 charging of my electric vehicle.

  • Nice budget friendly 16A EV charger that gets the job done, but is 16A enough?
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
This 16A portable EV charger by EVMaster, is a respectable way to get a slower EV charger that’s not going to break the bank. With so many choices in the expanding world of EV chargers, this is good for some needs and not so much for others. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – The quality on this charger is good for the cost and especially for a 16A charger, but not even close to a top of the line charger. I’d put it in the upper-middle range of the quality scale, for EV chargers and guess it should hold up well over time. II. Usability – It’s very easy to use, being a plug and play type option. It uses a 5-20 plug for 20A specific sockets with one prong turned sideways. It also comes with a NEMA 5-15 adapter that is your typical house outlet and has a max capability of 12A, which is the most you should charge on a 15A breaker anyways. The main unit look somewhat generic, but offers some extra’s like the digital screen for info and some unique design ques. The digital screen offers some good data like volts, amps, timer and kwh that you can see through a screen. The included bag is cheap, but at least it comes with one in case you want to bring it along. Keep in mind that a 12 or 16Amp’s is going to charge painfully slow, but it gets the job done, while saving you money on the purchase price. The 16ft cord is on the shorter side, but should be sufficient for most users. Overall, this is a very functional, budget friendly option for the lower amp category of chargers. If you’re willing to spend the extra money, there are higher amperage options that offer 32-50A charging capabilities (if your car can handle it), that’ll charge your car significantly faster, but do require larger breakers and sockets, as well as higher cost in most cases. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision. ... show more

  • Good cable, nice display
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
I received this product about two months ago and I haven't had a chance to test it for level 2 charging due to weather and traveling plans. However when I have used it at game with the regular outlet it seemed to work well. It xomes in its own case and it always seems to fit well as to where I can zip it back up just fine without much hassle. I like the screen as it shows you what is happening outside your car. It also has an adapter so it can be plugged into a 30a outlet. Since my care only came with a level 1 charger, this has become the standard plug i keep in the car just in case. Overall, I habe the shorter length that works OK for me in the driveway but if the price isn't too different, the longer option would be nice. Other than that, it's easy to use, doesn't require any instalation and feels like a solid charger quality. ... show more

  • Working well...
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
This charger is working well for charging a Chevy Bolt. It is easy to use and I like the informative display on it. I have been using it as my main charger for a while now and have not had any weird problems with it. The only thing that I think would be better is if it had a right-angle plug so the cable wasn't protruding into the garage area. I put a circuit and outlet in, and it works at 220V 16A like it is supposed to. Overall, I'd recommend this charger. ... show more

  • Charging properly, very good charger.
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
This has been a very nice charger to use as it has worked out very nicely so far. There has been no issues with connecting and its charging rate is steady without low fluctuations. The size is ideal and design is very nice. Very easy to setup and get running.

  • It'll do! But not ideal for Teslas
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
This is a nice EV charger to use while on the go, especially if you have a Tesla, because using it every day may get a little annoying. For starters, it does not have the charge port open button, and it does not have a Tesla connector either (you need to use the adapter included with your Tesla). It does however do a good job of trickle charging your Tesla, which is all it really should do. One thing to be aware of if you do plan to use this with a Tesla is that someone can come and unplug it at any time if you are using the adapter. I would highly recommend getting a portable charger with the Tesla connector, as that solves the unplugging, charge port cover, and appearance problems. ... show more

  • Functional at Level 1, problems at Level 2
Size: 18 Feet Style: Portable
If you only look at this unit as a level one charger it is fine, but overpriced. There are inconveniences - the need to use a converter as the T prong on the NEM plug is not easily found anywhere in the USA. It's essentially on the "wrong" side for a standard USA 120v 20amp outlet. But, a converter is provided. It does not get the full 20amp either, it caps out in 120v at 16 amps. You can get cheaper (and longer than 18') chargers that does the same work for well under $100 (April 2025). So the premium price has to be for this unit's ability to function at level 2, charging in 1/3 the time of a level 1. Well, I cannot get it to do that either. If you get a standard 220v 20amp converter to the weird NEMA plug (more cost) and expect the fast charge rate, you'll actually get something in-between. More of a 1.5. I'm not an electrician, I just want a plug that charges at level 1 and level 2, but I think there are step limits in the design of this unit. The display does not allow for a 20amp 220 setting, it maxes at 16a 220v. Very disappointing. So, this may be a "too good to be true" situation. It's just acceptable at level 1, will disappoint at level 2, and you should save the money and get a standard level one. The sole exception I can think of is someone who already has a NEMA 5-20 outlet - maybe it can amp up if you don't need converters? Or someone who simply cannot afford to step up to the $500 level 220v home charger -- maybe a renter, or a home where the panel does not have room for expansion, for everyone else - pass. ... show more
