I have been using the NexCyber Level 2 EV Charger for several weeks, and I’m very happy with it so far. The charger looks modern and feels solid. Charging is fast and reliable. The app is easy to use and lets me check the status and set a charging timer, which is helpful since my electric rates change during the day. The 25ft cable gives plenty of reach, even when the charger is mounted inside the garage and the car is parked outside. The cable is thick and strong but still flexible enough to coil without trouble. I also like the charging holder because it keeps everything secure and avoids damage. This is an incredibly well-built charger with heavy duty electric cables at a great price. I was a bit leery of an 'off-brand' EV charger especially when you hear the horror stories on the news but as soon as I unboxed this unit, all of my worries were set aside. The unit feels very professional grade but at half the price of the big name brands. Having two EVs in my household, one with J-1772 and the other with NACS, I was a bit conflicted as to which unit I should buy but I am happy with this purchase and have a NACS-to-J1772 adapter so that's not an issue either. I will install this at my lake house next week and from what I've read online, it is very easy to install thanks to the included mounting template and instructions. It's essentially plug-and-play. The app and the functionality of the charger also seem very good. I installed this Level 2 EV charger at home after switching from another EV charger type. Build & Safety: The unit feels solidly built and comes with ETL and FCC safety certifications, which matters when you’re running high current for EV charging. I appreciate the integrated smart display and intuitive controls on the unit itself. The app is a big plus for me where i can control when to charge (off peak hours). It also lets you adjust amperage (16–48 A) and that feature is available even without the app. On the app, you can select specific amp number instead of pre-defined range as other brands. Setup & Use: Installation was straightforward, but because it’s meant for 240 V circuits I strongly recommend a licensed electrician for the power hookup if you don’t have the outlet already. The Wi-Fi app is decent for tracking charge stats and scheduling off-peak charging, though UI in the app could need some improvements. Performance: I’m consistently getting what the specs claim in terms of charge rate with my compatible EV. J1772 support works across multiple non-Tesla EVs (for Tesla you’ll need an adapter). Thermal management and safety tripping haven’t been an issue. Overall: Good value for a home Level 2 charger if you want faster daily charging and with a bonus of basic smart features.     • Keeps the EV juices flowing with a good price and good features

This nexcyber unit was purchased two weeks ago to replace my 2019 Juicebox 40. Juicebox has been tossed about since then; the result a very dead APP. So, you might say, I expected the performance of the Juicebox AND the ability to really control the charger with an APP. Unit first: I purchased the 40amp unit -- it is more than adequate for our uses on the Kona and the ID.4. Display clearly gives all necessary information. Functions as a dumb charger reliably. (With the APP queued charges seem be handled just fine.) Whether car or charger has command, it equally performs. This unit was NOT perm wired (and thus was limited to 40amp -- take care to select accurately for safe use with extant wiring on a 40amp (50 per code). The mentioned 8 avg wire was no problem but would at 48) since we run the unit at no higher than 40 amps. The "longer" charge cord was a necessity because the garage had been wired for the two cars with only one power source. The cord coils easily (but this is summer) and mounts neatly over the unit. Installation over the old Juicebox site was a snap and though I appreciated the template and hardware, what I had was sufficient. The unit fills to 80% on each unit in a time commensurate with what we were used to -- thus the unit communicates well with both cars. The APP accurately gives the information I need for each car. (In a way it is redundant since the display gives the information (though not historical info). My power provider does not give rates for preferred hours; however in very hot weather, with the a/c running, less power entered the unit. Hence the need for early morning charges and the coordination of the APP as well as the EVs. The blue light of the unit being on at all times whether charging or not, as long as power is enabled, drives me bananas. Supposedly an APP upgrade is available to turn off that blue light. Saves having to go to the garage to break the circuiit. In all, based on my two weeks, some substantial and varied use, and personal installation experience (I'm over 80) of the nexCyber charger, I would say this is a good price, and a good unit. (I have not tested the waranty, nor did I need help in installaion). ... show more
