  • Better Than Stock dealership charger
Size: 20FT Color: Black
Works better than our stock Mitsubishi charger and works faster. We bought our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in 2024 and it came with the stock Mitsubishi charger. It was slow and normally wouldn't get a full charge unless plugging in before 6pm and unplugging at 830am. This charger not only works well on a standard 15amp outlet but does it quick. Our battery charges about 1 mi per 45 min to 1hr. It charges at 13watts and works well. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far it's been perfect. Just know you'll need an extension cord. Our garage outlet to our end of garage is 16ft and the cord didn't reach out 1 car garage out to it which is about 20ft. So know you'll probably need a 9ft appliance extension cord. The cost and how good it is I don't mind a small extensions cord. ... show more

  • Make sure you have a 20A circuit or de-rate the charging speed!
Size: 20FT Color: White
Safety first: I am not an electrician, but I DO know that you can not run a 15A-rated circuit at 15A continuously. You run the risk of tripping the breaker constantly or worse, creating a fire! I have heard an 80% rule where a 15A-rated circuit should be able to power ~12A continuous, and ~15A on a 20A rated circuit, but if you have any reservations about any of this please just consult the proper, knowledgeable electricians before purchase/installation. I checked that my garage had a 20A breaker, and the correct type of outlet, AND inspected the temperatures after I had this up and running. So now the product itself: I can't install a Level 2 charger so I like that this L1 is able to give me a 50% boost in charge rate over the supplied EVSE that came with my car. That cuts charge time by 33%. The onboard screen seems very accurate for data (cycles between amps, temperature, status, etc), and the box is really nicely made. The cable feels hefty yet reasonably pliable. As other reviews have said, it's a little snug in the charge port but I hope that wears out a little over time. I wish it had a 90* angled wall-side plug but understand that not every application could work with an angled plug, so that is probably why it does not have it. Now I can keep the car manufacturer's supplied cables with the car for emergency. Overall I'm very happy with this and wanted to support this product since it had low reviews and imperfect English. It's the real deal just make sure you know what you're doing! ... show more

  • I just received mine today and definitely is a Level 1 EVSE
Size: 20FT Color: White
I don't know if this review will be of any help since at the time I'm keying this (November 22nd, 2020) there are only two left, there were six the day I ordered (November 19th, 2020). I almost didn't ordered based on the only comment at time from Ana. I don't know if she may have received a EVSE model that was capable of both Level 1 and Level 2, one that comes with a NEMA 6-20P for Level 2 and has an Adapter for NEMA 5-15 for Level 1 and whether she didn't realize this or the NEMA 5-15 was missing. The one I received has only the NEMA 5-15 plug and I don't know if this would work as a Level 2 EVSE if I could acquire an NEMA 6-20P adapter, I don't even know if such a thing even exist. Of course, I wouldn't write this review with verifying that it even works. So I plugged it into the 110 outlet and then into the Volt and it works. Not only does it work, it has a small LCD display that scrolls information like amperage that is flowing and temperature of unit. I highly recommend this unit just based on this information only and would recommend that the manufacturer make more, especially if they can keep selling at this price. One more thing, for some reason it comes with the 'User Guide' for the Level 2 system but it really doesn't provide much information so if you already know how to plug into a 110 outlet and a J1772 into your vehicle, you're good. ... show more

  • Failed after 1 year
Size: 20FT Color: White
The charger stopped working after ~1 year. When I plugged it into the wall, the green light would flash a couple of times, then turn off completely. Even if warranties are stated for 1 year, it's generally assumed products will last longer because nobody expects to buy these things on an annual basis. I contacted the company about the issue and they offered to send me a slightly used replacement, but works like new. This replacement didn't work at all - no flashing lights or anything. I asked them to send a replacement again and they sent one with the wrong outlet plug-in. I asked them again about a replacement and they said I am outside of warranty and cannot send another charger. They don't stand behind their product so don't waste your money. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good value
Size: 20FT Color: White
This review is about initial quality because I’ve had the EVSE for less than a day. First of all, given the price, this EVSE has no business being this good! The front of the unit has a sunlight-readable display which shows instantaneous Amps, total kWh delivered, total time charging, and temperature (the manual doesn’t say whether this is the plug temp or the box temp, but I’m guessing the latter). It cycles between the readouts, or you can press a button to switch them manually. There is also a large strip of colored LEDs that allow you to read charging status from across the room. The cord feels like a high quality silicone rubber, with good strain relief at both ends. I didn’t measure the length, but the manual says 24 feet, which looks about right. Fit and finish on the J handle (the end that goes in your car) feel excellent and solid. I didn’t test the GFCI or overcurrent protection, but pressing the release switch on the J handle immediately stops the charge session. Level 2: the unit I purchased was advertised as Level 1 only and came with a NEMA 5-15 plug on the inlet end. However, the manual in the box claims it can take 240V input. I may test the later. The only thing missing (potentially) is longevity. I’ll update the review if the unit breaks on me. ... show more
