works great, a fraction of the cost of a Hyundai charger.
About 2.5 years ago I bought a PHEV SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) and frankly I *love* it. I'm getting over 100 mpg in it. But I have a cabin about 50 miles away, and I knew that I'd forget to bring the charger along, so I went looking for a different charger. Hyundai's charger costs (*gasp*) about $1000, for no particularly good reason. So, I bought the Energygenie, and you know what? it works just fine. I've left it at the cabin, so it's ready for me when I show up. I cost, quite literally 1/8th as much as a Hyundai original. [I mean, really?]. But it works fine. I'm running L1; in principle this could do L2, but I don't have the 220 VAC for that. Turns out that they include the plug converter that lets you use 120 VAC, so ... Bob's your uncle! ... show more

Good charger
Worked for me good. It was my car that didn't take the charge.

Works well, good value
This charger works well and is very easy to use. The long cable is a big plus and gives plenty of reach, even when the outlet is far from the car. Charging speed is solid for daily use, and it has been reliable so far. The charger looks a bit basic, and the display could be easier to read. Also, the plug was different from what was shown in the pictures, which was a little disappointing. Overall, it does the job and feels like a good budget option. I would recommend it, just with a few small expectations. ... show more

Excellent little charger delivers Dependable current at a steady level. Well made and portable.
I'm very happy with the speed and power of this charger for a small electric vehicle. I understand that it is basically a portable charger that would be used in 110 volt applications or a low amperage level 2 charge in 220V

Good quality stage 1/2 charger with lcd display.
This is a high quality stage 1 & 2 EV charger. If you have a 240 volt outlet this really comes to life with stage 2 charging. This works on most electric cars and will also work on certain large solar power stations. The cable on the one I got is quite long ant 17 ft. The cable is thick and feels well made. This has 2 well made cable connection options, for stage 1 and 2. It is easy to plug in and unplug the stage 1 connector. This has an intuitive lcd display, which gives a live reading of the power and the temperature. The wire hasn't gotten too hot, even when powering up a large car battery at 16 amps. ... show more

Portable, solid design, consistent charging
Portable, solid design, consistent charging: This product has a mid length charging cable, but the 17 foot cable is easy to wind up and put in the carrying bag, making this an ideal product to keep in a trunk or take on the go. The product is well designed, with a thick charging cable, secure control box and stable connection at the charging port while using. The product is able to charge the EV consistently, with no noticeable dips or drops in the electric connection. The plug also fits in snuggly to the charging port and doesn't jostle around or come loose while using. Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend. ... show more

Easy level 2 charger
The ENERGYGENIE Level 1&2 EV Charger works great. It plugged in to my NEMA 6-20 outlet and my Kia EV9 and started charging at 3.7 kW. The display is larger than my old charger and easy to read. It displays the current setting, the line voltage, and charging power. It does work on 120v with the included adapter, albeit at the slower charge rate. The delay was a little clunky to set, there's only one button so you need to use short-press to change the menu option and long-press to select it, but once I figured it out it wasn't difficult. It only has even-hour settings, so you may be faced with needing to choose between an extra hour of charging at a higher tier or one less at the lower tier, but that doesn't seem to be a deal-breaker. The vehicle connector plug is an ETL listed component, but the overall charger assembly does not have any ETL, UL or CE markings on the device body or cords, and the UL number listed in the product images does not return any results the search. Otherwise, it's been great. Charges 3.5x faster than the level 1 charger that came with the car, and is less expensive than most other options. ... show more

Good design and function
Does what it should, has not burnt out on me so far. The waterproof cap is a nice feature if it spends time outdoors, but I'm bringing it inside to be on the safe side anyway. Good fit for a Chevy Volt.
