Worked perfectly with my Craftsman 3000i generator – adjustable current is extremely useful I bought this EVSE primarily as a portable charger for my 2016 Nissan Leaf, and it has exceeded my expectations. One of the biggest tests for me was whether it would work with a Craftsman 3000i inverter generator, since many EV chargers cause smaller generators to bog down or stall. This unit worked plug-and-play with the generator and did not require a bonded neutral, which was a pleasant surprise. The adjustable current feature is the real advantage. I was able to start charging at 8A and then gradually increase to 10A, 13A, and finally 15A while the car was already charging. Each adjustment increases the load in steps, which effectively ramps up the generator load instead of hitting it all at once. My Nissan-branded EVSE would stall the generator, but this one allowed the generator to handle the load smoothly. Another surprise was that my 2016 Leaf accepted a 15A charge at 120V. I had always believed the onboard charger was limited to around 12–13A on 120V, but with this EVSE the car pulled the full 15A without issue. The LCD display is also very helpful. It shows: charging voltage current draw accumulated kWh That makes it easy to confirm what the charger and vehicle are actually doing. I also tested it at 240V from 8A up to 16A, and it worked well there too. I have limited 240V current available in my garage, so being able to dial the charger to the exact current my circuit can support is extremely useful. One thing to note: there is a limited window where the EVSE allows current adjustments while charging. During that time you can ramp the load up in steps, which works great with a generator. After some time the EVSE locks onto the final current setting, and to change it again you must unplug and reconnect the unit. Overall, this is a very versatile portable EVSE. The dual voltage, adjustable current, clear display, and smooth generator compatibility make it much more flexible than the standard charger that came with the Leaf.

Solved our problems! Our OEM Level 1 charger frequently stopped charging because of voltage drops. We charge our PHEV in an older community garage using a long 10-gauge extension cord, and the vehicle typically draws about 11.5 amps. With the OEM charger, the cord and connections became noticeably warm, and charging sessions would sometimes lock out. We set this charger to 13 amps, and although it charges somewhat more slowly, it handles the voltage fluctuations much better. We have had no noticeable heat and no charging lockouts since switching.

Charger work great from July 10 2025 until February 10 2026 absolutely no problem until the last rain that came through were I live it's made through the rain quite a few times and has been sitting outside since I hooked it up a year ago but the last storm was a downpour in it ended up in a puddle. Hopefully the upgrade version works as well. was easy to hookup and the display bright enough to read in the sunlight to adjust the the amp output, the cord was long and pretty sturdy ran it over a few times. Helped maintain my battery at home without have to stop at a charge station

This unit has worked well so far. The power usage and current draw is interesting information to have. I always thought the Chevy volt used 16A of current at 220v. However, it really uses 3.3KW of energy. Depending on your 220v actual voltage the current is determined. So if you 220v line is actually 242.6v then the actual current draw is 13.6A. That is 3300w / 242.6v equals 13.6A max. See picture of actual usage on the Chevy volt. Since the Chevy volt only uses a low Current draw this is all the evse charging ability you need. You could use a 30A unit but really your waiting your money. Yes, you could use it on a later vehicle purchase down the line but the 30A unit is unlikely to last that long. I had a good 30A unit and it broke after 11 years. I paid for more than I needed and never used the 30A current. This unit cost much less than those 30A units and I believe the overall current waste is less. If this unit lasts 10 years than it was a good purchase. Have to judge how long it will last but given it does not get as warm as my 30A unit I think it might last longer.

Less than 6 month of usage, one of the connectors became loose and it is no longer charging. I tried to contact the company and all it has is an online form. Filled out the online form and received zero acknowledgement and have not yet heard from the company. This item is of low quality with zero customer service if you run into any issues. I would not recommend the item. Update from 1 star to 4 star: The company eventually responded and offered me a replacement unit. Hopefully, the replacement will last a bit longer than the old one. I will be using it as a backup since I already bought another charger from a different company while waiting for the response from this company.

Great charger! I was looking for something that super simple to use for standard level 1 (110v) charging and this delivered perfectly. It can support charging rates from 8a up to 18a which is fantastic. I have to charge in a garage at my apartment and if we charge at higher than 8a it will blow the circuit so its really helpful to be able to set the charger to 8a. The controls are even simpler, you just hold down until it highlights and then tap to change. You stop tapping and the changes take effect. I appreciate the simplicity of operation. You can also do a timer function but at the rate I'm charging, not really an option. It has a nice color screen that is clear and easy to read along with a mounting bracket to make your cable management a little easier. Basically if you need an affordable 110v charger, this is a great option!
