Pre-purchase: I contacted the customer support before buying this charger because I wasn’t sure if I need to alter anything to electrical plug. Great customer support. *Seller confirmed if the garage breaker panel has 50A or higher it is good to use. My garage breaker panel has an EV labeled switches. Package: very durable, I like when manufacturer put effort to protect the product. Installation: poor me didn’t have wall drill so I just put on a box, still works fine as it should. Performance: been using this for few months now, I think it works well, no issue so far. And I no longer needed to go to charging station and wait in line to charge. For new tesla owner: tip for new owner as I am, before using this I’ve been only going to supercharging stations and it doesn’t require anything. But this charger, it will need a J1772 to Tesla adapter to plug into the car. If you do not have the adapter, you won’t be able to plug in. ... show more

    • Easy Install, high quality build and simple interface
Easy install, quality build and just works. Looks good too. With most cars having charging stats and info on an app, no need for WiFi or smart features. A digital visual read out and an easier way to change Amp output would have been nice (but not necessary) upgrades. Overall very happy.

The design is almost identical to the Grizzle classic charger. The design is so physically close, it uses the exact same wall mount. Exact same enclosure and motherboard. Bought this to replace a failed Grizzle classic. Differences are the Nema 14-50 plug is noticably shorter. Had to move my wall mount closer to the outlet to get it to work. The main J1772 cable is noticably thinner and smaller than the Grizzle and the J1772 plug in has no dust cap for protection. Have it mounted outside in the Alaska climate, holding up well so far. Would recommend if you can get it on sale. ... show more

I really Liked the ease to install, A few screws and the bracket is in place.. The device just plugs into the outlet and its ready to charge. I really like the holster, it can hold the cable as well as the charger plug off the floor so it look nice and neat in my garage. I would recommend this to anyone looking a quality charger. The Packaging is really nice as well, since the product is heavy, it is nice to see that it was well protected during shipping. ... show more

Undependable. Shuts off continuously. I’ve reset and changed the settings daily and doesn’t help. Professionally installed. I do not recommend purchasing this charger. No support through customer service, I was redirected back to car manufacturer. The car charges perfectly on any other device

    • Solid Build at a Good Price.
If you’re reading this you’ve likely been looking at a ton of ev chargers that meet a certain set of criteria. For me, I wanted a 32 amp level 2 ev charger around that $250 dollar mark with approved safety marks and a 21+ ft cord. On paper this charger checked these needs. In first impression, it seemed to be very well built. The case and charging cable all feel high quality, and the J1772 plug is better than the Mopar level 1 charger that came with my Jeep. Also, the J1772 safety clip that holds the cord into the vehicle is metal, which is a huge plus and seems like it will last without issue. I had it installed today and it delivered a fast charge without any noticeable excess heat at the connection, cord, or body. The only down side is that it lacks an app to do remote charging, but my Jeep Wrangler has all my charging schedules within its operating system, so it wasn’t something I was interested in. So far, it’s exactly what I wanted. I’d recommend it as a no nonsense quality charger. ... show more

I was looking for a simple reasonably-priced charger that does not require apps or wifi to setup or operate, and this is it. The unit seems to be very durable and well made, and built to withstand the elements. Selecting the maximum current level is simple using a small DIP switch which is accessible after removing the cover from the unit. I purchased this charger to replace a previous charger that died, which was hard-wired to my home's electrical system. Before purchasing this unit, I was concerned whether it would be compatible with the power feed that I have, because the unit has a 14-50 plug, which has four prongs - L1, L2, ground and neutral. However, the power feed for my previous charger had only three wires - L1, L2, and ground (no neutral). After a bit of back and forth with Lenz' customer support (which was very helpful and responsive), it turns out that power is fed to the unit by only three power connections (L1, L2, and ground), not four. See the second photo above, which was sent from the helpful people at Lenz support. So, apparently the neutral prong on the unit's 14-50 plug is not used. I ended up installing an outdoor 14-50 receptacle as you can see on the left in the photo above, with just the three connections for L1, L2, and ground, and leaving the neutral terminal on the receptacle open.
