  • Perfect Adapter for My 2025 VW ID. Buzz and Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector Perfect Adapter for My 2025 VW ID. Buzz and Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector
Size: 48A Adapter White
I am very happy with this product. I have a 2025 VW ID. Buzz and recently installed a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector at my home. Since the ID. Buzz uses a J1772 connection, I needed an adapter to connect the vehicle to the Tesla charger. Before purchasing this adapter, I was using a 32A, 110V adapter and was only getting about 2–3 kW of charging power. After switching to this 48A, 250V Level 2 adapter, my charging speed increased significantly, and I am now seeing charging rates of approximately 26–29 miles of range added per hour. My Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector is hardwired and connected to a 60A breaker, which allows the charger to deliver higher power. The actual charging speed will depend on your home’s wiring, breaker size, charger settings, and your vehicle’s charging capabilities. Overall, the adapter works exactly as expected, feels well-built, and has made charging my ID. Buzz much faster and more convenient. I would definitely recommend it to anyone using a Tesla Wall Connector with a J1772-equipped vehicle. ... show more

  • Works between Tesla and J1772
Size: 48A Adapter White
This works perfect when I need to connect our other car (Leaf) when the Tesla isn’t charging. It’s compact and comes in its own bag. Great quality and very durable. Compatible with the Tesla to J1772. When I have the Tesla cord plugged into it and then into the leaf you can’t even tell there is a connector on it due to the excellent match and appearance of the connector. Very easy to use and very versatile ... show more

  • EV 6 charging with Gen 3 Tesla wall charger -works
Size: 48A Adapter White
So I wanted to write this review for other ev6 owners. Long story short I bailed on my order of the Tesla I had installed a gen 3 Tesla wall charger in preparation to take ownership of the Tesla but it did not work out and I denied the Tesla and kept the wall charger just in case. I bought an ev6 and I love it so I bought this adapter knowing that my wall charger charges at Max rate of 48 w. My rundown of how to make it work is somewhat like this. When I first plugged it in my wall charger had a blue light and said charging unsuccessful. I decided to update the firmware manually on my wall charger and I clicked access options through the commissioning wizard using Tesla's instructions. On the commissioning wizard you need to make sure that all vehicles can access your charger not just Tesla. I'm not sure if this is 100% necessary but I did it anyway. Next I fiddled around for a while and could not get it to work. I decided to change the circuit breaker size to lower the Watts. At 30 Watts it finally seemed to start charging successfully. From the Tesla commissioning wizard I changed the wattage incrementally until I got to 48 w. The charging still works successfully. So my thoughts though overall is that I actually think I was doing a sequence wrong and the wattage did not matter in the end. Here is my sequence now to charge successfully. I get home I turn off my car and I plug in the Tesla charger using this adapter. The light will turn blue and after a few seconds the car will say charging unsuccessful. I make sure I have my keys in hand and without holding the brake I just hit the power button on the. Accessory mode turns on. After a few moments I am able to remove my charger from the car as it was locked previously. I plug it back in after a few seconds and wait for a few. Almost always the charging starts then on the Tesla wall charger and I can see all the green lights light up and it charges at full capacity of 48 w or 11 KW per hour. I am not 100% sure if the car needs to be off when it's installed first and then the car is on when the charger is put in the second time. This seems to be the sequence of events that allows the charger to actually charge. I had almost called customer support a few times on this but this stepwise pattern for me seems to make it work every time and it charges at 48 w which is higher than the other adapter I saw here on Amazon. It works perfectly and it charges very quickly. Hope this helps any other person ... show more

  • Overheating, frustrating, can’t recommend
Size: 48A Adapter White
Trusting experience. The first two that I received had the same issue. They would overheat and my charging speed would drop 20-40%. The third they sent was from a batch that that was supposed to fix the issue. It did, for a few months. The newest one is having the same issue. Avoid this product if you don’t want your adapter and charger to overheat. I’ve used a cheaper option from another brand that works much better. Very disappointed in this product. ... show more

  • Works on level 2 Tesla chargers
Size: 48A Adapter White
Works on my wife’s 2025 ford mustang Mach E using a Tesla AC charger. Note this does not work on DC fast chargers. All in all worth it

  • Heavy and bulky, but works
Size: 48A Adapter White
worked well on my RAV4 Plug-in, It's a bit bulky and heavy though, not sure if manufacturer can make it more compact and lighter. I've seen the opposite versions of these on Tesla models and they're much more compact.

  • Maybe not this one
Size: 48A Adapter White
Worked well for about 6 months with my Tesla wall charger / Audi E-Tron, but after that it will charge for a few minutes and stop due to overheating. Unfortunate for the price, I would steer clear of this one.
