  • Expensive for such a simple charger but does what it says and offers great warranty Expensive for such a simple charger but does what it says and offers great warranty
I have other Lectron EV items (adapters) and while they're never the least expensive they always work as expected. The listing doesn't say it (that I can find) but the download-only manual says, "This product is covered by a 3-year limited warranty. Extend your warranty with Lectron Care by scanning the QR code below." I can't say for certain, but I don't expect you'd have a problem with Lectron warranty if needed. As of right now I can't find the manual for download on their website (maybe because it's too new) but the QR code worked. It's quite large (maybe unnecessarily so) and includes mounting/hanging hardware and even a peel-and-stick drilling template.. The manual is probably the simplest I've ever seen for an EVSE (17 total pages) and it covers both this 40-amp (plug in) and 48-amp (hard wired) versions. Honestly, with so few pages I'm surprised they couldn't just print the manual & include it. But this is absolutely the SIMPLEST EVSE I've ever owned or used--which may or may not work for you. I was unable to pair it with the Lectron app using Bluetooth so I contacted customer service. A couple hours later they responded, "Please be advised that this charger model does not have Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity feature." I was literally stunned and I actually had to go back and re-read both the listing and the manual. It only has a single button (on the side) for reset and THAT'S IT. There's no app connectivity, timed/smart charging, RFID/security locking, ability to reduce current or even a visual display of charged kWh. Right now it's $360--at least twice as expensive as more featured EVSE's. It's not right for me (I prefer more features) but I completely understand that other people may not want the app stuff for more of an ICE-fuel type experience (connect it/walk away/disconnect it/drive.) It's fast to setup (literally unbox and plug it in), has a great warranty and longer-than-normal cord as well as complete independence on external communication/control. It would be nice if there was a label on it explaining the colors/flash patterns from page 15 of the manual but if your outlet is properly installed, you might never even see those. I'm struggling a bit with the rating, but I'm going to give it five stars for what it is--super simple. But if you want smarter/cheaper/more compact, look for other models. And FYI, it works fine with a cheap NACS-to_CCS L2 adapter if you need both charging methods. ... show more

  • Not smart, but not bad.
I've never owned a Tesla and have been happy with my J1772 charger. But the "Tesla plu", now called NACS, is not only for Tesla anymore, almost all US marked manufacturers are switching to it. I'm going to upgrade my lovely BMW i3, the next car will probably be a Genesis GV60. It comes with a NACS plug staring this model year. This Lectron charger has no energy monitoring or other "Smart" features, typical for this price point. However it has all relevant US certifications and will satisfy any building inspector. These certifications are important in the high power equipment. This charger is the single most power hungry load in my house- more than HVAC, water heater or wall oven. Country of origin- China. Here is how I rate: 5 Stars: Excellent product that meets all expectations. Any flaws are minimal and do not affect functionality or performance. 4 Stars: Very good product and worth buying. Performs well overall, with only minor issues. 3 Stars: Adequate product that functions as advertised but has noticeable shortcomings in quality, value, or features. 2 Stars: Functional but affected by major flaws or clear mismatches between the product and the claims made in the listing. 1 Star: Barely usable or completely unusable. May also include misleading or false claims in the description. ... show more

  • Quality Charger - No Smart Features
This is a high quality EV charger with the NACS port and a NEMA 40 amp plug. The charger itself works well and functions as expected and charges as well as can be hoped for from a level 2 charger. This version with the NEMA 40 amp plug does charge slightly slower than the fully hardwired version which utilizing a 50 amp breaker can charge at 48 amps. Overall this is a good charger from a known brand. My biggest issue with it is that (and this is my fault for not paying attention) there are no smart features built into the charger. For the price of the charger it seems like the minimal addition of wifi connectivity and some basic logging data metrics and ideally scheduled charging would be available, but that is on a slightly more expensive model. In the end, it isnt a huge deal, it just seems like a feature that should be standard on all EV chargers as this is one of the biggest perks to an EV. I know a lot of the cars themselves have settings to control some of this as well but I'm all for more options than less. In the end I am generally happy with it and as long as the 40amp charging and lack of smart features are not deal breakers for you this is an excellent choice. ... show more

  • Convenient Plug-In Charger for Tesla
Overall, this Lectron 40A Tesla NACS Level 2 charger is a highly practical device, ideal for owners of Tesla or NACS-equipped vehicles who already have a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed at home. Its 40A, 240V output delivers charging speeds significantly faster than standard wall outlets, while the 23-foot cable provides ample reach for convenient use in either a garage or driveway. • Reliable, Fast-Charging Level 2 EV Charger
First off, the setup for the Lectron Nexus Level 2 charger is simple — just plug it into a NEMA 14-50 outlet and it’s ready to go. No hardwiring, no complicated installation, and the included wall holster keeps everything neat and organized. Charging performance is excellent. At 40A / 240V, it delivers fast overnight charging. The 23-foot cable offers flexibility for parking in garage or driveway. The build quality stands out. The unit feels solid and durable, not cheap or flimsy like some lower-priced EV chargers. The weatherproof IP66 rating is reassuring for outdoor use, and the cable remains flexible and manageable even during cooler mornings. The native NACS connector means there is no adapter hassle for Tesla owners, and this charger is future-ready for newer EVs adopting the NACS/J3400 standard. Safety certifications are another big selling point. ETL listing plus UL certifications give buyers confidence in the charger's protection and reliability. Overall, this feels like a high-quality, home EV charger that’s easy to install and works exactly as promised. Highly recommended for owners of Teslas or other NACS-compatible EVs. ... show more

  • Charges quickly and feels well built
This charger feels solid and well made right out of the box. Installation was straightforward with the NEMA 14-50 setup and charging speeds were noticeably faster than standard wall charging. The cable length is also helpful because it gives more flexibility on parking position without struggling to reach the charging port. I liked that the charger holder keeps everything organized when not in use instead of cables laying everywhere. Overall it seems like a reliable Level 2 charger for everyday Tesla charging at home. ... show more

  • Waking Up To A Full Battery Every Single Morning
Plugging into a regular wall outlet takes ages, so upgrading to this Level 2 charger was a massive game-changer. It charges incredibly fast, giving you plenty of juice overnight so you never have to worry about range anxiety before heading out. Setup is dead simple since it just plugs right into a standard NEMA 14-50 outlet without needing a complicated hardwiring job. The 23-foot cable is long enough to easily reach across the garage or driveway, and the built-in holster keeps everything neat and tidy when it's not plugged in. It feels heavy-duty, weather-resistant, and completely takes the hassle out of home charging. ... show more
