  • EV 6 charging with Gen 3 Tesla wall charger -works
Color: White
So I wanted to write this review for other ev6 owners. Long story short I bailed on my order of the Tesla I had installed a gen 3 Tesla wall charger in preparation to take ownership of the Tesla but it did not work out and I denied the Tesla and kept the wall charger just in case. I bought an ev6 and I love it so I bought this adapter knowing that my wall charger charges at Max rate of 48 w. My rundown of how to make it work is somewhat like this. When I first plugged it in my wall charger had a blue light and said charging unsuccessful. I decided to update the firmware manually on my wall charger and I clicked access options through the commissioning wizard using Tesla's instructions. On the commissioning wizard you need to make sure that all vehicles can access your charger not just Tesla. I'm not sure if this is 100% necessary but I did it anyway. Next I fiddled around for a while and could not get it to work. I decided to change the circuit breaker size to lower the Watts. At 30 Watts it finally seemed to start charging successfully. From the Tesla commissioning wizard I changed the wattage incrementally until I got to 48 w. The charging still works successfully. So my thoughts though overall is that I actually think I was doing a sequence wrong and the wattage did not matter in the end. Here is my sequence now to charge successfully. I get home I turn off my car and I plug in the Tesla charger using this adapter. The light will turn blue and after a few seconds the car will say charging unsuccessful. I make sure I have my keys in hand and without holding the brake I just hit the power button on the. Accessory mode turns on. After a few moments I am able to remove my charger from the car as it was locked previously. I plug it back in after a few seconds and wait for a few. Almost always the charging starts then on the Tesla wall charger and I can see all the green lights light up and it charges at full capacity of 48 w or 11 KW per hour. I am not 100% sure if the car needs to be off when it's installed first and then the car is on when the charger is put in the second time. This seems to be the sequence of events that allows the charger to actually charge. I had almost called customer support a few times on this but this stepwise pattern for me seems to make it work every time and it charges at 48 w which is higher than the other adapter I saw here on Amazon. It works perfectly and it charges very quickly. Hope this helps any other person ... show more

  • Works flawlessly for Mach E
Color: Black
Bought this to be able to expand our options for charging the Mach E when traveling. Took it out of the box, plugged it in and started charging from a Tesla charger. I am writing this review from a Resort that has 2 Tesla and 1 J1772 chargers. Sure enough when I went to charge the Mach E, the 1772 charger was in-use. The 2 Tesla spots were empty. Well no more. Happily charging at 10.4 kW using the adapter connected to a Tesla charger. I have a Lectron 240 V charger that I used for a company car at my home. It worked flawlessly as well. Seems the quality is there in the Lectron products. Not the cheapest, but they work! ... show more

  • Overheats after 1 month, Tesla support team knows about Lectron issues.
Color: Black
First ever 1 star review I've felt the need to post, in hopes of sparing someone else. Bought the Lectron adapter for my Porsche Taycan 4S because it appeared to be the best adapter available (clean branding, higher price point, plenty of orders, etc) but that was a huge mistake. The adapter worked for about 10 uses, then I started getting an overheating warning on both my car's charging port and on the Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger as well. The car would charge properly for about an hour, but as time progresses the adapter heats up and charging kWh slows down from 8.8 to about 2 before it eventually quits due to overheating. I spent 3 full days troubleshooting, and I'm a pretty resourceful person. From verifying that both the Porsche and Wall Charger are up to date, to ensuring that my 50 amp breaker has a max output of 40 amps, to even putting the Tesla Charger into "Compatibility Mode" which is designed to work for non-Tesla vehicles - nothing worked. After speaking with a representative from the Tesla Wall Charger support team, they were able to tell me first hand that Lectron complaints have skyrocketed on their end and that the higher ups are aware and actively trying to figure out a solution to this. They said something is off between the communication between the Tesla Charger and the adapter itself. Other details important to note: Lectron has not responded to my voicemail and 3 calls I've left them over the last 2 weeks. I also noticed they have dropped the price on this exact product over the last couple of weeks. Perhaps they are finally experiencing the impact of a inadequate product. My solution: I returned the product and ordered a replacement adapter. I won't be saying the replacement's brand name because this is not intended to be a shoutout to another competitor. I will say that this replacement is LESS money, rated at 80 amps instead of 48, and has zero issues reported to the Tesla Wall Connector Support Team, whereas Lectron had several issues reported. Do not buy this product. It could have caused serious damage to my tesla wall charger, my rather expensive car, or worse, it could have burned down my house! ... show more

  • Flawless w/ F-150 Lightning
Color: Black
Works perfectly. Plug NACS into this, then the unit into the Lightning and power just flows. Very durable, because of course I dropped it the second time using it- and barely a scratch.
