After waiting a couple of weeks for the Lectron Level 2 J1772 Charger to arrive I quickly opened the box and was immediately impressed with its quality. I received the WiFi enabled version with a Nema 14-50 plug. It comes in a hard case for transporting, which I guess is useful, but not sure I'll really travel with a dedicated 240v plug in charger. But it's nice to have. The cord is super thick. Almost double the thickness of my OEM dual voltage charger. This is both good and bad. I feel like it will be very durable and should easily withstand the demands of charging at 240v 40 amps. However, the thickness makes it less flexible. Not so much to be a hindrance, but definitely noticeable compared to the OEM. I do wish the cord was a bit longer than 16', but it is serviceable. I plugged it into my existing Nema 14-50 outlet, and the charger quickly came online. There are no instructions included, other than a card to register for warranty, and another one with a QR code to download the app. After getting the app and the requisite account creation and log on it was easy to find the pairing feature to get the app connected to the charger. The app is pretty basic and clean, albeit with an annoying ad for other chargers in the middle of the screen. I did see a spot where you can add "alternate" WiFi networks, which is good because I'll eventually use this at my mothers-in-law's house. I was already at 80% charge, but I wanted to check the Lectron out, so I increased the charge limit on my Silverado EV. Charging immediately started, and the app reported the amperage being used in live time. After a brief period of variation, the amperage settled in at 40A. Looking at the screen in my truck it showed a fluctuation 12-14mi/hr being added. Edit: I got a chance to plug in at 69% and was very impressed that it was adding around 21 mi/hr. I guess this is a great illustration of the difference in charging rate below 80% vs. above 80%. On a cool day (~60° F) after an hour of running the cord and plug was completely cool. The charging unit itself was warm, not to an unexpected or level of concern. So, I have to say my initial impressions are very positive. When considering the cost of the OEM Level 2 chargers this is a bargain. I'll do some more extensive testing as I need to charge, but for now it's 5 stars from me.

This is a super nice electric vehicle charger. We recently moved from our old home and I wanted a new one installed so as soon as I saw this one I had to get it! This came very well packed and secured and everything was exactly as described in the ad. We took some time before getting this to look over the makes and models that this was compatible with and after determining it would work perfectly for my EV. I would definitely recommend taking some time to do that and as long as you do you are good to go. My husband was able to get this fully installed in the garage and ready to go. He said it was an easy and straightforward installation if you know what you are doing. He owns a car lot so he is super familiar with doing this type of thing and said it was a breeze. If you are unfamiliar you could always hire someone to do it for you it's really pretty simple! It is super easy to get everything connected and this easily popped right into my car and started charging it. I love that everything is so well labeled and this cord and everything does not get too hot. This is super thick and super durable. Definitely very well made from what feels like higher quality materials. I was very impressed by how quickly this charged my vehicle up and how the charge has been lasting. Definitely works just as good as my previous name brand charger at a fraction of the cost! I love that I can control all types of things from the app on my phone as well. Definitely a great bang for your buck and a solid 10 out of 10 great quality product
