  • Put your Tesla charger in the trunk and leave it there!
Size: 16 Amp
NOTE: This review is based on 120 volt use. When I finally get a 240 volt outlet put in I will try to remember to update the numbers. I ordered this in advance of receiving my Tesla because I wanted to have one that I could just leave in the trunk for emergencies. I started out charging with the Tesla (mobile) charger and it charged as expected. Then last night I decided to put the Tesla charger in the trunk and give this one a try. To my surprise I found it was charging faster than the Tesla charger. Throughout the evening, every time I checked the charge rate it was at 16 amps instead of the 12 I had been getting, and this translated to 6 miles of charge/hour, bettering Tesla's 3 to 5 mph rate observed during my previous charges. Build quality is excellent, and the cable appears to be larger conductors than on the Tesla ( a good thing). I spent part of my career designing electronics, and while I haven't pulled the Lectron charger apart (yet) build quality appears to be excellent. My only criticism is a minor one: the membrane switch could be a little easier to operate. The heavier cable is a little more cumbersome, but that is a good tradeoff for having larger conductors. I would not want more cable flexibility at the cost of losing the greater current carrying ability of the Lectron cable. I hope you were helped by this review, and I look forward to updating it when I can test the charger out at 240 volts. Until then, happy electric motoring. ... show more

  • Not really Tesla fully funtional
Size: 16 Amp
Not really Tesla compatible/ functional. I ordered this because our 2023 M3 was arriving soon and Tesla had their mobile chargers on back order & this was the only brand that had the Tesla charge plug as its connector without adapter. I did like that the 110v (standard NEMA 5-15) plug allowed for the charger to auto-sense the usable wire/breaker amperage of 20 amps without having to have a 2nd 110v adapter plug (true NEMA 5-20) like the Tesla mobile charger has/requires. This performed well on a dedicated 20 amp circuit with wire lengths of 90+ feet (combined panel to outlet & extension cord using 12awg & 10awg wire), giving 7-8 miles/hr charging (note: Tesla mobile performed equally as well). The problems start with the Tesla type connector: 1st, the button on the plug (for opening charge door and releasing plug) is non-functional, even says so in the supplied manual. This missing function requires a release from either your Tesla touch screen, your phone or the emergency trunk pull cord release (not recommended except for an actual emergency). Why is this button not functional? Very inconvenient to take additional step(s) for an expected function. 2nd, the connector/plug looks/seems less sturdy than its counter part, Tesla mobile. I.E. contacts look thinner and plastic housing nicks/gouges more easily, while initially plugging into car, car/app report about 1/3 of the time a connectivity error to start charging and about 1/2 keep reporting until you push or wiggle plug or on at least 2 occasions I had to release & re- plug. I did finally get to order & received a Tesla mobile with a NEMA 5-20 plug and have been using it ever since without the 2 main problems of this unit. After almost 3 weeks of use, I’ve discontinued use of and I’m returning the Lectron Tesla mobile charger. ... show more

  • Works well at 110v as well as 220v
Size: 16 Amp
I was pleased to see that in 220v mode this performs better than the spec's, with my Model 3 charging at 33 miles added per hour when the spec is 30. Adding 200 miles overnight is easy. I was even more pleased that it has 110v charging available with extra power. In this mode it charges at more than twice the rate of the 110v charger that comes with the car, making it possible to add 100 miles overnight. (Your 110v outlet has to handle 16 amps.) ... show more

  • Great quality charging product with Tesla standard connector
Size: 16 Amp
My first experience with charging; my car was one of the group that no longer ships with a Tesla mobile connector. Tesla-branded chargers are on months' delay, so I cautiously went third party. This box checks all of the boxes; high amp 110v, mid-level 220v. Received quick, packaged well, plugged right in with zero drama from wall to car. Learned quickly that my garage GFCI is shared literally all throughout my house, which was a bummer. I only got to try 15A 110V charging briefly. However, that worked as-advertised, higher charge rate than the Tesla branded unit. Overall good unit, nothing to complain about at all. WAY more expensive than Tesla unit, though. ... show more

  • Does not work
Size: 16 Amp
It will start charging the car for about an hour and then will shut off. The lights will start blinking. I have to remove the charger from the car and restart the process. It will then sometimes work for the remaining charge, or I will wake in the morning to find out it shut down again. The product support guidelines were not helpful. With the price only being $50 less than the Tesla wall charger, I would recommend going with the Tesla charger. ... show more

  • High quality and efficient charger for my Telsa Model 3.
Size: 16 Amp
After finding out my Tesla Model 3 would not include the charger I found this charger. I got the charger in two days. The packaging and presentation of the product is top notch. It came neatly packaged in a nice travel container. there is also a QR code for customer support. I first tried charging with level 1 and it charged my car as described about 7 miles per hour at 16amps. I tried level 2 charging and to my surprise it is charging a bit faster than advertised. I'm charging about 32 miles per hour at 32amps. So far I am more than happy with this charger and would recommend it to any EV owners. ... show more

  • Didn’t work
Size: 16 Amp
Plugged it in and the thing turned all red. Couldn’t get it to work with my 2022 M3LR. Ordered a replacement so we will see if i got a bad one or if they just don’t work.
