Just got a Prologue and the dealer supplied charger is on back order and I don't know when they will be available so I needed something to get me by in the meantime. I don't drive alot or often so I don't mind charging at 110v 12a. Getting this charger with wifi let's me set the schedule so I only charge during off peak hours. It works perfectly. It starts charging at 9pm and stops at 4pm the next day. Runs at about 11.92amps. Does not get hot at all. The app is great but is missing a critical feature which it does not let you add the per kWh price that the local utility charges, so although the app shows you how many kWh you use daily, I have to calculate by multiplying the daily usage by the kWh rate to give me an idea how much it cost to charge overnight. Other than that, the app works perfectly

This 12 Amp unit seemed to be one of the few that only pulls the maximum allowed current for a "continuous" (3+ hour) load from a standard 110-Volt, 15 Amp outlet (per the NEC: National Electrical Code). 80% of 15A = 12A. Many of the other units seem to be 16A (>100% for standard 110V outlets), I don't know why. It's true there are *some* 20 Amp outlets, with a different pin configuration. But they're not common. In any case, the charger works. We don't expect to drive much, so think a 110-Volt slow (a.k.a. "trickle") charger will be enough for us. We'll see. Because we don't have an outside outlet near our driveway, and our garage is full of "stuff", I have temporarily put the charger's box inside, and run the car-end cable outside the garage, with suitable chafe protection. Inconvenient, because you can't see the box's lights from the car without opening the garage door, but it works fine. By the way, the pre-sale info seems not to state whether the "12 Amp" current is input or output. I have not yet measured either, but have *assumed* input. The owner's manual seems to confirm this. If I get more info I'll try to update this review.

I am not happy that it does not come with cable holder (as pictured); however, the charger works as expected and the customer service is awesome!

So Lectron is a respected brand for EV chargers, adapters, etc. I can see why. This Lectron Level 1 J1772 EV charger does not disappoint. Build quality is good. It’s portable, and the cord is long enough (16 feet) for most applications, but not all. It comes with good instructions and is easy to use. It has an IP65 rating, which is dust-tight and water-resistant (water projected by a nozzle against the enclosure from any direction for three minutes should have no harmful effects). The charging handle is a 3R-type rated NEMA enclosure, which is weather-resistant. The actual charging worked perfectly fine. One of the promoted features is Lectron’s app, which, once you connect via Bluetooth to the charger, you can have it connect via 802.11 b/g/n via 2,4Ghz. You can monitor or schedule charging and control the maximum amperage draw used during charging. The app is relatively easy to install and use. I like that Lectron has a good website that offers a means of getting support, looking at manuals, etc. This charger is a good portable solution to keep at a second location, pack in an emergency/bugout kit, store and travel within your EV, or loan out to someone when needed.

I use this charger as a backup mobile charger for my Model Y. To use it with a Tesla, you’ll need the SAE J1772 charging adapter, which likely came with your car - I got one with mine. The charger displays its status through a few LED lights, which is handy, but the app offers much more functionality. I don’t use the mobile app much since I can check and control the charging status through the Tesla app. However, the charger’s app is good and will likely be helpful for non-Tesla owners. A nice, sturdy storage bag is included with the charger. The only real downside is that this is a Level 1 charger, as stated in the product listing, and it may take more than two full days for a full charge of a Model Y - so plan accordingly.
