  • That is a good thing though
Since I have not colored my hair in over a year and a half, this is mostly my natural color with some lingering highlights (the reason my hair is more blonde at the tips of some strands). I can spot the grays in my hair without zooming in, but feel free to zoom in (thanks if you have zoom) for a closer look. The left picture (top) is the before, and the right picture (bottom) in the after picture. When I look at the after picture, I only spot one gray (I'm not telling where I spot it, so you can play Where's Waldo). It is likely I just missed that spot. This spray definitely covers grays as long as the product coats the strands of hair with them. In my attempt not to stain my head (which I did the first time I used this but it washed right out), I held the sprayer farther back. I also sprayed for a shorter period. If you have more grays and do not mind a slightly stained scalp, you could spray closer to your scalp and for a longer period. This should cover them all. The sprayer disheveled my hair a bit, but it is somewhat repairable. As long as you get a color that is close to your natural hair color, this should work. The color of mine is so close to my natural color that my husband insisted he could not tell a difference. That is a good thing though. I do not want an obvious difference. Just cover my grays and blend in with my hair. He is a gentleman and barely notices my grays though, even though I am sure he really sees them. It definitely works and looks completely natural if you buy the right color and do not spray too close to your scalp. The price is a little steep at $9.99 for 2 ounces, but I've already used it three times and feel there is a lot left. It will probably last a while. My hair is naturally soft (despite being frizzy), and this hardens it a bit. I would liken it to the feeling of a light hold hairspray, so it is not too bad. This also adds a bit of frizz I cannot work out since this is the last product I apply. A brush will put everything back in place, but that sticky feeling is not fun to brush through. If you have a lot of gray or regrowth from your natural color blending in with your bottled color, this is a great item for your arsenal. As someone with a little gray and natural hair, I will not purchase this for a while. Once the gray takes over, I will be all over this. I received this one for free from BzzAgent. ... show more

  • It’s ok
It works as it describes… the can doesn’t last long, u have to spray a lot to cover up the roots however it did stay in my hair until I washed it like 4 days later

  • Not too bad! Does what it claims!
I was excited to try out the #gotitfree sample of L’Oreal Paris Root Cover Up medium blonde through BzzAgent! Overall, I think the product does exactly what it claims to do...helps cover up roots(and my grays)! On the positive side, it was both easy to apply and will be a great go to for quick touch ups. It did have a couple of things I wasn't entirely crazy. It was very similar to the Halloween style color sprays in that it feels a little heavy on hair and made the texture of my hair very course and stiff. This wasn't a problem for the roots on top of my head where it acted almost like a dry shampoo, but along my temple area it felt kind of yucky. I tried out the L’Oreal Paris Root Cover Up a couple different days with a couple different hairstyles and as long as I kept away from the that temple area I was very pleased with the results. I feel this is best used occasionally or when you know you'll be in photos, daily use or when it was in my hair on hot summer days wasn't quite as successful. Note about my photo: I have red hair in the strawberry blonde family, so I picked blonde cover up, because I was afraid the red product might actually be too red. Also due to the light color of my hair it is more difficult to see the roots and grays in a photo then in person, so the product made a greater difference then what you can tell from the before and after photos. ... show more

  • Cover those greys, the easy way!
I tried this product when I was stuck on bedrest for a medical issue and getting my regularly scheduled appointment with a colorist was just not a possibility. I didn't use it daily as it does wash out, but I used it for special occasions or for those play dates with the "super fabulous moms" it certainly went on easy enough. There was very little learning curve. I just had to get used to holding the can further away then my instincts think those nasty gray hairs need! Lol. It also almost worked as a thickening spray or the feeling of fibers for hair loss, or a dry shampoo. So that was an added benefit for me who deals with thinning hair at the crown but also just like to have a thicker, fuller appearance. I personally would go a shade darker then you think you need because you have to remember you are most of the time spraying your roots which are always darker growing out anyway. I would suggest giving this product a try to keep in your "beauty emergency bag" for those uh oh, where did that gray come from? Maybe you can give it a try to save money, by stretching those dye jobs by a week by just treating the grays or roots then to pour dye on your whole head. In summary, I would recommend it to friend for all the reasons above. I would love it a bit more if is was a bit more permanent/ semi permanent instead of washing out every time you took a shower and washed your hair. Like anything it takes practice for application but also, to get to know the pros and cons of a new beauty hair product. I felt comfortable taking a jump into a new area of hair product because I know and respect the well known L'Oreal brand. ... show more
