So I had reached an age where I had to decide if I wanted healthy hair or colored hair. I opted to see what I was working with, which turned out to be my still crappy color brown and scattered gray. Meh. But, after all the time and trouble I took to get everything grown out, I wasn't willing to start with all the coloring process again. I really stumbled upon this and tried the silver gloss and it helped with the shine, but I probably didn't have enough gray. THEN I found the black. Knowing it wouldn't go full black, I gave it a shot and it was perfect. Took the boring brown and deepened it. I wash my hair, smear it on...and since my hair us short it doesn't take much... and go do something for 15 minutes or so...rinse it out in the sink and good to go. I don't use gloves, and soap and a cloth gets it off MY skin. I'm not an idiot, so I don't get it on clothes and rugs...which I imagine "might" stain. But it doesn't stain the cloth so... In any case, it lasts pretty good through 1 or 2 washes. Considering i get probably 5 treatments out of one tube compared to the price of a salon color, its super cheap. And because it eventually fades, I don't have to worry about roots. And if you don't want to look like you are "coloring" again, this is perfect. Subtle yes. But way, way better. Feel like myself again.

I have medium brown hair with 50% grey. My hair used to have a lot of different brown and gold tones. This did not remove or cover my grey but tones it down so that I no longer look like I have lead on my head. It gets a lot of my lighter brown tones back but I still have some grey. I'm happy because I hate the look of regular hair color. This product makes my hair look more natural that that. I wash my hair and then treat it with a small amount for 10-12 minutes. My hair is short so I still have a bit left after 3 months. I rub it in my hands with water, apply it and rub in until it kind of foams up a little, then let it sit. I have no trouble rinsing it out of my tub. I recommend rinsing it out of your hair until the water runs clear, otherwise it may make your hair drip with color and feel coated. I do not need a conditioner afterwards. I think it smells nice.

I have light brown hair, and I purchased the color Auburn now I knew it wasn't going to turn my brown hair to red just like that! I honestly didn't see my hair take the color at all. However, in the sun you can see some red in there. But the point for a gloss is to give your hair a push in looking healthy and shiny which it did. It also made my hair feel so soft! The pigment on this gloss is strong so please do wear gloves. I read that the hair has to be damp in order for your hair to attract the pigment and you leave it for 15 minutes. This product does exactly what it advertises to do.

Went to a so called expert to have my hair colored and after five hours in the chair my hair was completely fried. It was totally damaged. I tried a few conditioners but nothing helped. One day I saw this product and decided to give it a try. Sooo glad I did! My hair is shiny, and frizz free and my layers look terrific! This tube has enough for three treatments. When I gave my review I couldn’t speak to the longevity cause I just did it. Just love it!

I love my natural silver hair but fighting the yellow undertones was a persistent struggle. I have fairly healthy medium length hair that is on the thinner side. I had a full foil, light blonde balayage about 6 weeks ago and my non-highlighted hair is a dirty blonde to very light brown. I think the success of these types of products depends on the current health of your hair, how recently you colored your hair and if it was boxed or professional color, choosing the right gloss color and leaving it on for the right amount of time. I used an exfoliating shampoo before using this product to remove any buildup so this could really penetrate my hair. I've used it twice in the past two weeks and I'm happy with the results. It's not platinum but it's quite a bit lighter. I've used purple shampoos before which tend to grab my porous ends giving them a lavender hue if I leave it on too long. This seems to distribute color more evenly but I could see this also going a little lavender if I use it too often. I think I will use every two weeks until my next balayage.

I saw a YouTube video of a vlogger who tried this and really liked it. There was a noticeable difference in the tone of her hair. It's definitely easy to use and needs to be on the hair only 10-15 minutes. I applied it after my shower so that I could maximize the time it was in/on my hair. The scent is pleasant, and my hair felt soft after using it, but I could not notice a difference in the tone of my hair, nor could my husband, who notices everything. I applied it only once, so there are at least 2 applications remaining. I may try applying them with fewer days between applications and see if there's a difference. It is noted in the description that the intent isn't to change the hair color; however, based on the vlogger's experience, I had hoped it would do so. For me, using a purple shampoo weekly works well to keep any brassiness or yellowing at bay.
