I had tried the NYX version of setting spray and kinda figured this would be the same or similar. But while I found the NYX version to not work one bit, the e.l.f. version is wonderful! It sets my makeup, kinda melts in my powder, and creates a matte finish that lasts all day. I won't say that at the end of a long work day plus going out at night that I look totally fresh and unchanged, but it does make everything look a bit better. I may go on to try nicer, more expensive setting sprays, but I really really like this one and use it daily with no breakouts or ill effects on my sensitive skin. Good product, smells a bit interesting, but still serves its purpose and makes my skin soft

Smells a little bit weird, it reminds me of hair gel or something, but I can deal with the smell. I tested a little bit of it out on the back of my hand with some concealer I bought as well. It’s not very sticky, and I’ve only had it on my hand for about 10 minutes so far, so that’s not long enough to judge the amount of time it will keep my makeup on, but I’m sure it will be a good setting spray. Surprisingly, my hand that has the setting spray on is actually really soft. I will for sure be using this in the future for school and stuff. It’s not very oily, and it’s a good, functional, and affordable product and I would recommend. Also one thing about the way I received it, I ordered this along with some lip gloss and concealer, and the items came with some sort of residue on them. It smelled like laundry detergent, and when I rinsed them off, there were soap bubbles, so maybe someone ordered laundry detergent or something and their package was next to mine and it leaked. Not a setting spray exactly, but it's effective. I like its quality potential, if that makes sense

Ok so I am fairly new to the full makeup world (8 months and 5-8 full faces later) and I wanted a setting spray so I wouldn't have to worry about my makeup getting on everything and anything, so I bought this. Not expensive, small bottle so I don't feel like it was a wasted purchase. Basically, I learned it works best after you apply a product, then you let it dry and do the next, and so on. Overall, less residue than normal, but some world transfer on my hand but it wasn't as bad as using none. Real Life Test: So, the day I did those steps I just mentioned, me and my friend went to the fair and it was hot, and I had some sweating, but my makeup did not mess up at all. Later that day it happened to end up raining, now I don't think I can just blame the spray but maybe my light sweating affected the spray and so when the rain was on my face the streaking made it worse. But when I didn't use it, at night when I was about to take it off, I would try to see how the water would look if it streaked? I think the spray makes streaking worse... (for context, I am a really active person and sometimes sweating happens in the slightest things I do) Can't fully say it's a "you get what you pay for" situation, but I will update the next time I try a new spray. ... show more

My favorite!!

Okay a longg time ago (little more than 10 years) my sister had this and it smelt absolutely rancid like cheese. We were so traumatized by the stench alone it put us off of this product for a long time. Recently I needed setting spray and this was one of the cheapest I could find with a decent amount of product so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I gave it another cha cue and they reformulated because this is amazing! Makes my makeup last all day and melts my powder products into my skin. Eliminating that overly dry powdery look while also keeping me matte. Most importantly there’s no funky smell!! I’ve tried the matte one and didn’t notice a difference. As well as the $10 micro mists but I honestly prefer this one. I like the mister nozzle as well. It allows me to fully saturate my face. I feel like the micro mists completely missed my face and only got my hair soaking wet. Repurchased this 5 times. I highly recommend!! ... show more
