I bought this as I couldn’t find acid free carbon. I soaked it over overnight in water and baking soda to neutralize the acid. I then dried it in a dehydrator for a few hours. It worked good for lowering the VOCs for my 3D printer.

I bought this for my small aquarium. I recommend to wash well before you put them in the tank. If you don't, You get a bunch of small black particles at the bottom of tank quickly. I don't know this cleans the tank water but seems like my fishes like their water so far.

Better to get this than buy replacement carbon cartridges. I cut part of the top off my old carbon filter bags and empty them and refill them with this carbon. I have about 6 carbon bags and I wash and rotate then refilling with this. Tank stays clear way longer that standard carbon filter. I used to get 3-4 weeks before the water goes cloudy now with this I have gone 8-10 weeks before I feel guilty enough to change it. I haven't see the water go cloudy yet. My tank has 2 gourami, 3 rainbow sharks, 4 Danios, and 3 Molly. ... show more
