I have been using mine for a few months now. To get acceptable heat, you need to lift the charcoal tray up a notch so the fire can "breathe" better. The alloy brackets that house the temperature gauge and choke corrode very badly and quickly on the coast, so should be sold with a cover. Otherwise it's a neat very portable BBQ but with a few modifications, it could be the best. ... show more

I definitely recommend this KingsFord All-in-One Grilling Kit. This Kit provides everything you need to start cooking (except the food and a match), they include a bag of KingsFord Match Light Instant Charcoal Briquettes, a pair of stainless steel tongs, a cleaning brush and a spatula. There is a nice Instruction Manual with easy to read print. The Grill itself is an exceptional appliance, it is made of stainless steel, gray colored top and a beige colored base. There are ventilation slots around the outside of the base and the top can be locked down by latches on opposite sides. The top of the grill has a nice wooden knob handle with the KingsFord logo stamped on it and there is an adjustable vent that has a knob to turn that operates a baffle. Controlling the baffle adjusts the air flow, making it easy to adjust the fire temperature to low, medium and high. Also on the top of the grill there is a nice temperature gauge built in. In the bottom tray there is a small stainless steel rack for the charcoal to be placed on and the stainless steel rack for the cooking surface. The cooking rack has raised rails on two sides that allows for 3 height adjustments above the coals I have never had the pleasure of using a charcoal grill designed this well. A lot of thought has gone into the constructions. It is easily cleaned, there is a removable charcoal pan in the bottom of the grill that is easy removed and cleaned. The surfaces are all washable and super easy to clean after each use. This grill is the perfect size for my wife and I but I think it would handle a small family as well.     • Great grill set but beware of the feet!
This is the nicest table top charcoal grill I have ever seen and I guess the price reflects that. The kit comes with a bag of their easy light charcoal and tools for grilling. The quality of the brush, tongs, and spatula is very nice. They appear to be all stainless steal and feel really well made. I like that the rack for grilling has 3 or 4 different height adjustments. The built in temperature gauge worked well and I love the airflow gate on top. This grill is made to sit on a table top with all the layers of insulation and bottom heat shield. I decided to use my metal/hard plastic slats that look like wood to grill on top of. I kept checking under to see if it was damaging the table and it looked good. It was not until I was done and went to clean it that I realized the 4 feet had melted into the table! They left imprints as though they were pressed in super hard. It did not fully melt the plastic or stick to the feet, but still something to keep in mind when using this grill. The steaks and veggies turned out amazing! The surface was enough to hold 2 large steaks and I had to grill the veggies after. It maintained enough head to grill a lot more after starting with a full bin of charcoal. The grill is very portable and I love that the lid locks down. I can't wait to show this off at our next outing with friends! I highly recommend and would buy it again! ... show more

    • Great for Grilling On the Lake
We go boating a lot during the summertime and often beach our boat on a sandy beach somewhere on the lake. We usually pitch a tent and camp out there for the night. We owned a small propane grill that we took for camping before. It uses those little green propane tanks for fuel. The problem is that they don't last long, they're heavy, take up room, and are a pain to lug around. I was excited to see that they had a charcoal portable grill option available. Not only because it was going to be much more convenient, but I've always felt that the food tastes much better when grilled over charcoal. The grill even comes with a set of tools and a small bag of charcoal to get you started. It has a temperature gauge on the lid that you can monitor, and this can be adjusted with a valve opening on the other side. It also has three different levels that you can sit the grate for grilling inside. As far as size, I can fit about four decent size burgers, two steaks, or three chicken breasts at one time on there. It claims that it can handle larger quantities, but my portions tend to be larger in size. It's extremely portable and makes for an easy cleanup when you're out in nature. The whole family is happy with this grill and has made the beginning of this boating season already start off on a high note. ... show more
