We replaced the mattress on our full sized guest bed. It had a hybrid mattress and replaced it with a hybrid. We wanted a little more height and thought we’d add the box spring not realizing the bed frame did not have sides that would hold the box spring in place. It sets on top of the bed frame and slides around. Trying to come up with a way to fasten it to the bed frame so it doesn’t move. If you have a bed frame with a flat top it won’t work. It is a sturdy box spring and easy to assemble. Just need sides on your bed frame to keep it in place. Not a bad product.

Straightforward to put together. Decent quality & easy to put cover on. We slept on it last night and it was great. (we purchased a bed that I did not realize did not have enough slots to perform as a platform so we purchased this 5 inch metal “box spring” to make it work and it totally did! I was worried about the sizing, but it fit just fine - it’s a pretty standard queen.). Good value for money!

Easy to put together. Comes with extra parts, always a plus. Smelled light gasoline, but the cover was washed in the washing machine and held up great. No more smell after. Cover shifts easily. But stays on. Working perfectly so far.

If you’ve ever thought, “You know what would make my day better? Building a king-sized bed foundation from scratch using Allen wrenches and pure regret,” this is the box spring for you. It arrives in a suspiciously small, impossibly heavy box — like a cursed artifact that punishes whoever opens it. Inside, you’ll find approximately 9,000 metal bars, 300 bolts, and one flimsy instruction sheet written in the cryptic language of suffering. Building it with my spouse felt like starring in a low-budget relationship survival reality show. IKEA furniture at least gives you a cartoon guy and hope. This monstrosity gave us existential dread and an argument about whether “Part C” was actually “Part G.” After three hours, two sore backs, and one near-divorce, we finally finished. It squeaks when you breathe near it and looks like something built by medieval blacksmiths who hated joy. In conclusion: if you want a box spring and a full emotional workout, this product delivers. Otherwise, sleep on the floor — it’s less painful.

We had an old wooden box springs (actually, no springs were in it; it was a reinforced wooden box covered in thin foam and mattress cover material). However, as mattresses have increased in thickness from 8 inches to 12-15 inches, the height of our bed has increased as well. We desired a way to lower that height while still providing good support under the mattress, and this foundation (we'll use this term rather than "box springs") was a perfect choice. While the foundation appeared daunting as a bunch of metal rails inside a box, it was quite easy to assemble. Most of the components were preassembled and fit together easily. Screws of various sizes were provided, along with an Allen wrench for tightening. All of the screws fit in their proper places, and were not difficult to tighten (and, while the Allen wrench was handy, if you have a ratcheting driver with the proper size bit, it makes assembly even quicker). The top of the foundation is covered with small metal slats that snap into brackets provided for them. The whole thing went together in probably a half-hour for a queen size bed. And, once assembled, it was clearly a very sturdy foundation for our mattress, and fit perfectly in our antique wooden bed. While we would have preferred the cover actually be a zippered bag that would completely enclose the frame, we did not think it warranted losing a star. The provided cover works more like a mattress pad, with elastic corners and retaining straps. It has a nice nonslip surface on top to keep your mattress in place. Just be aware that it is best put on the frame AFTER you have laid the foundation in your bed. Best of all, this foundation was only five inches thick, replacing our old nine-inch foundation, and getting our bed height back where we wanted it. Highly recommend!

Instructions are easy to follow. It took my daughter and I less then 20 minutes to assemble. My 13 year old daughter did all the work because she said it's for her bed. She just wanted me to watch her to make sure she was doing it right. Looks great and it's very sturdy. It fits in her metal bedframe perfectly.
