I bought this after retiring my Dyson DC7. It never performed like this Kenmore. Best suction, more versatile and has absolutely clean exhaust. The casing is made of high impact plastic. Everything is sturdy. Separate motors in the power head and pet mate attachment make the brush rollers unstoppable. I find it easy to store and easy to empty, too. The power head has height adjustment and works well on hard floors and any carpet pile height. My home has never been cleaner. This vacuum sucks up the dust from UNDER the carpet! My one and only complaint is that the power head doesn't pivot. However, the power head is also very light, so turning it around corners and chair legs isn't hard at all. Overall, this is a very good value. I would recommend buying it. Especially if you have your heart set on a canister. You won't be sorry. ... show more

First, I had a Kenmore canister with a bag for 20 years. Bought it in VA in 2005. Used it all the time. I have birds so I needed to have the hepa filter. For the last three years I was getting bags and filters from Amazon. Always had what I needed. The recoil cord started to get slow on rewind, and I had to make one repair to the cord. Well after last weekend of cleaning, I was finishing some area rugs, when I smelled the motor and saw little smoke coming out. I knew then, she was tired. Rest in peace my little red roll around. So online like everyone else, I started digging. I found this one and did some thinking. HUMMMMM. Well I figured the pole that I had will fit the new pole and I can make a longer extension to reach high dust and cobwebs. Yup it does. Does not have a floor attachment, which I like and not use the beater head, to do bare floors. A must need in my home. Well out of the box, plug in and see what happens. Had the beater head on and went over the area rugs real quick. Remember, I had just vacuumed the day prior. Well the beater has plenty of pull when you are on the low setting. Gets deep in the pile, and the suction is wonderful! I took it out to do the car. I had spent weekends moving a friend, and the SUV was crying to get dirt, dust, dog hair, and many other things. I put the little beater on the short handle and BAM! got hair and dirt out of the carpet. I have rubber floor mats, so that area was easy. It cleaned up everything. Best is that I can carry it around the car or put in the back to get around the rear windows and all the tight areas. So, over all, great little thing. Power, suction, manageability, are important. Since I took care of little red, (RIP) I hope that I get years of use with this one. ... show more

    • Good Vacuum for the $ Despite a Few Minor Quirks & Lack of Hard Floor Tool

We bought this exact model for use at our vacation home 2 years ago. Our old Kenmore cannister vac at our main home was getting pretty old, and I was tired of buying bags, changing bags, etc. We've had a bagless Dyson stick vac for 15 years and it seemed like time to go bagless for the main vac too. My main complaint is that this vac does NOT include a hard-floor tool! I had to spend another $10 and buy it separately. My other grip is that, while it comes with a powered pet/upholstery brush attachment, there's no place to store it like on our old Kenmore cannister. So, you have to find a drawer or shelf to store both it and the floor tool you'll likely want to buy. Pluses: Powerful! Wand extends to give you 9' reach, so plenty easy to get those pesky cobwebs out of the corner of the ceiling. Easy to empty. HEPA filtration. Third minor annoyance: The bracket that stores the brush and wand tool gets knocked off the wand pretty frequently, in my experience. Also, the brush tool is poorly designed because when you use it with full suction, it actually sucks the rows of bristles together and closes off the airflow! I suggest using the suction adjustment ring in the handle to cut the suction down by 50% when using the brush tool. Despite my complaints, this is still a really good bagless vacuum. It just has a few idiosyncrasies you need to get used to. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY! HUGE Piece of Fecal Matter!

I just got this vacuum at the end of January and did not realize I would not be able to return it should problems arise. I have a HUGE problem, after less than 45 days it does not work. In the beginning it had impressive suction power but the very first time I had to empty the dust bin I was concerned. The way this thing is engineered requires that you empty it after EVERY use. No problem, I could have handled that except for the fact that it is difficult to put the dust bin back on and more than 80% of the time, if you do not have it exactly right, you have no suction at all. The dust bin is very poorly designed as it is extremely small and all of the finer particles of dust adhere to the plastic dust bin requiring that you have to wipe it out completely in order to use it again. I paid $286.09 for this stupid piece of crap an now, 40 days later it turns on but suck up nothing. To make matters worse I have to deal with Kenmore/Sears (ARE THEY EVEN IN BUSINESS ANYMORE?) to see if they will let me return it. ... show more

This is my second purchase of this model. The first one is still running, but seems to have lost a bit of suction after ten years of service (and the pet powermate gave up the ghost many years ago). I was looking for a new vacuum, and saw this old familiar model on sale, so bought it immediately. No part on the original failed over the past decade (except the powermate) and I am hopeful this one will be as good. It appears to be identical. Picks up pet hair very well. The nice thing about this model is that you can fully disassemble the collection unit and thoroughly clean it. It has two filters. The circular dust filter can be removed and cleaned by running water through it. I recommend getting a spare since it takes a long time to dry. The HEPA filter lasts a long time, and I only replaced that once on the previous model. Overall a very robust and efficient vacuum, and a great value. A credit to the old Sears/Kenmore name, although I’m not sure of its current corporate parentage. ... show more

My wife and I purchased one of these vacuums (125.22614610) via Amazon three or four years ago, and were very much favorably impressed - easy to use, and very powerful on our carpets. Although reasonably lightweight, it was something of a hassle for us older folks to carry it up and down stairs, so in April 2024 we bought a second one, for the second floor. The second machine had a problem - the motorized power-head attachment (for vacuuming carpet) worked fine when pushing it forward, but when pulling it back it lost power. After six months of procrastination, we got serious about diagnosis. Owning two of the same model, we were able to swap in parts and thereby to learn the problem was with the aluminum wand tube that connects the handle to the power-head. The machine was still under its one-year warranty. I called the service phone number provided and described the problem, and our diagnostic work, to a knowledgeable and courteous native-English-speaker, who promptly volunteered to send us a replacement "wand," which indeed arrived promptly (no charge) and has solved the problem. So - great customer service. I learned, in the process, that the word "aspiradora," which appears on the cover of the user's manual, is the Spanish word for vacuum cleaner, not, as I had ignorantly assumed, the model designation of this particular machine! ... show more

After using this vacuum for a few months two days a week, I can say that I do like it. I like that it is a powerful vacuum for a pretty good price. However, I hate emptying the dustbin. For a machine that says it is dog friendly I think the dustbin is a really bad design. Dog hair and dust clogs little holes and gets stuck in a little chamber that is only like a half an inch so it's really really hard to get out the leftover hair. If you don't, you will notice that the vacuum isn't as strong as if that hair wasn't stuck in there. After messing with getting it out now i just blast it with my leaf blower to clean out the dust basket. ... show more

I have used every Kenmore vacuum cleaner you can think of I tried the canister with no bag to save money I clean three or four houses a day and this thing really picks everything up it does get clogged up because it works so good it’s picking up lots of dirt so you do have to open it up let the dirt out and also if you twist intern the whole middle section comes out I don’t think people realize that take that out clean it all out boom it works like magic it picks up Waymore than the bags so if it starts to get clogged and you can’t vacuum anymore just empty it out I’ve washed all the parts and set them out overnight I love it ... show more
