These shades are nice and thick, no bleed through of needles of light. However, the material is slightly translucent, so they do allow some light through so it is not dark underneath. These have a kind of hourglass shape, i.e., they are not perfectly square, so there are small gaps between adjacent shades (we put up 3 in a row), but that is fine. I have not had them that long, but they seem durable. And dust/debris seemed to shake right off. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Good size for a small deck. Gives our flowers and us some shade! Price was right and seems sturdy enough. We had wind gusts 60 mph recently and it held up fine.

Finally got a chance to put this up, just in time for 90+ degree weekend. I was apprehensive about the color being a little dark when it was folded up, but once set up, it looks very nice. "Fabric" seems durable, is light weight and definitely provides very good shade. It comes with a small rope and two carabiners, but I did buy a separate (nicer) rope, hardware kit and posts from Amazon. ... show more

We purchased a large shade sail for our patio and this is really big and shades pretty well for what we need. It has rained several times and each time, after things dry out we make the ropes for the sail tighter. Rain does pass through and goes right to the middle, so the sag is pretty bad, passes through alright. Everything under it will get wet, but we figured it would be that way. We placed this right behind our backdoor to keep the morning sun from heating our kitchen too much in the summer. It has helped a lot. Our patio is 25'X30" so the sail covers most of it. If this lasts till colder weather, I will be happy enough. I would recommend using pulleys on each corner and attaching this to something tall. If you use just the side of your house, once it sags, it makes it easier to tighten the ropes again. ... show more
