  • Super professional, quality built premium price paddle.
Size: 16mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
Excellent quality professional grade paddle. This hits extremely well when going for power smashes. I'm still a little new to pickleball however this has helped out my aggressive game. Feels great all around and gives me great confidence in competitive games. I usually play easy and for fun however I'll occasionally get an aggressive wannabe professional and this helps me keep up and return the same energy if needed. This is a little premium priced however you are getting a quality paddle if you're serious about your pickleball game. I cannot comment on the NFC features as this is not a feature that I use. Overall five star quality professional paddle at a premium price. ... show more

  • Cool pickleball paddle for a premium price
Size: 16mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
Cool pickleball paddle with a nice sweet spot for a premium price of $299.99. The paddle comes in a beautifully packaged box perfect for a high-end gift. It has a very nice solid grip with the weight of the paddle light enough so it did not cause me arm fatigue. The paddle is well constructed with durable materials and as a bonus, the box comes with additional roll of grip tape as well as protective edge guard tape and several stickers to customize my paddle. With gameplay, the paddle felt well balanced with both my forward hand swing and back hand swing. It had a good sweet spot and the surface on both sides has a slight grit feel, which I think helps with spinning of the ball. Overall, this is a well constructed pickleball paddle for professionals, but I would consider this paddle a little pricey for beginners. ... show more

  • Elongated paddle with real reach and steady control
Size: 16mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
I've been hitting with the 16mm Hyperion for about six weeks now, playing three or four times a week. I came from a mid range carbon fiber paddle and wanted something with more reach and a textured face for spin. The Hyperion shape is elongated at 16.5 inches long and 7.5 inches wide, so the head sits farther from my hand than what I was used to. The first few sessions took some adjustment to track the new sweet spot, but once it clicked, my drives and resets felt more consistent. The face has a gritty raw carbon finish that bites the ball well. Topspin drives stay down inside the kitchen line instead of floating long, and my third shot drops feel a little easier to shape. At the kitchen, the 16mm core gives me a softer touch than the 14mm version my partner uses. Dinks feel quiet and controlled, and counter speedups still have enough pop to push opponents back. The 5.5 inch handle gives plenty of room for a two handed backhand, which I'm starting to work into my game. Weight comes in around 8.1 ounces, which felt balanced out of the wrapper. I added a thin overgrip and that brought the swing weight to where I wanted it. The standard grip at 4.25 inches felt right in my hand, though folks with smaller hands might prefer the slim option. The NFC chip on the bottom let me register the paddle with the JOOLA app on the second try. ... show more

  • Another excellent paddle that will make a difference in your play.
Size: 14mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
I have been playing Pickleball for over 2 years now. I am probably between a 3.5 and 4.0 player although I have not been officially rated. As with many sports, equipment manufacturers want you to believe that you will get better by simply using their latest equipment. I play exclusively with Joola paddles so I was very interested in comparing this to previous generations. All the paddles in the new Pro V line are constructed the same way. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the head shape. This is the Hyperion shape and I have 1 previous generation of Joola Hyperion shaped paddles. So how does this compare? I played about 2 dozen matches with this paddle and the earlier generation paddle. I played alternate games and sometimes changed mid game to see what, if any, differences this version made. Power and Pop: - Pro V: Balls seem to rocket off the surface with much more POP and less effort. The whole paddle seems lighter and faster and it is. It’s almost a full ounce lighter than the earlier model. - Earlier model: Still has lots of power, but more effort is needed to drive the ball deep. Feels more like a solid paddle than something with some spring or pop. Control and Spin: - Pro V: The surface doesn’t seem much different but wow can I put some serious spin on the ball with this paddle. I’m not very good at spin yet, but this paddle makes me look like a pro. As far as control and shot placement, this is better I think mainly because it’s lighter and I am able to get the paddle in position and make my shot vs. any new capability but I could be wrong. - Earlier model: I could not execute the same spin shot with this paddle. It just wouldn’t do it. So clearly there have been some improvements. As far as control, I think it is about the same, but I think because it’s heavier, I was not in position as often and was less accurate as a result. Bottom line is that this paddle is clearly superior in construction and performance vs the older version. If a player at my level can see improvements, then I expect better players will see even more. So if you are looking for a paddle to improve your game, I think this is a very good choice. Keep in mind that Joola offers 5 different head shapes in the Pro V line, so make sure this head shape is best for your game and style. ... show more

  • One have the best honeycomb, gen 3 paddles.
Size: 16mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
Joola is one of the top brands in pickleball paddles. This is the signature paddle of Ben Johns. It's an elongated shape. Slightly head heavy. You'll see in my video I have added a 9 g butt weight to bring the sweet spot slightly more centered. When the industry has moved to foam paddles, this brand has maintained its third generation honeycomb, floating core. This is a very solid and balanced paddle. Out of the box it's over 8 oz and I didn't find the need to add weight to the side as the paddle is very stable (twist weight). I will experiment with three grams on the lower corners but it's already an 8 1/2 oz paddle. Compared to the wide variety of foam paddles I already own, this Pro V is in the top two for balanced power and control. Only my Speed Up Tide has better overall performance in power, control and spin. That puts this paddle in the second place for my main. ... show more

  • Superb spin and control, smaller handle felt good, but more paddle than I really need
Size: 14mm - Standard Grip Style: Hyperion
Ok, I've been playing pickleball for about 5 years now, was a tennis player years ago, also played a lot of ping-pong, so pickleball was a natural transition for me, I may not play everyday but I can hold my own on a court. First off, packaging. A+. Very well protected and also very impressive presentation, would make an awesome gift, if you know anyone worth $300! LOL My old paddle was a $50 paddle, this is the first "top tier" paddle I tried. Right away I noticed a difference on spin and ball control, was an improvement over my less expensive paddle. The handle is a bit smaller than my old one, but I liked the feel, easy to control the paddle. Sweet spot was generous, I hit a lot less errant shots. My issue... cost. Although I noticed an improvement, was it enough of an improvement to justify the much higher price tag? If you are a serious pickleball player who plays frequently and does tournaments and such I can see the justification of the price, but it your a couple times a month player you can probably get by on a much less expensive paddle. Verdict, if you have a little extra cash laying around and your serious about pickleball, grab this baby, otherwise search out a less expensive "once-in-awhile" paddle. ... show more
