My husband LOVES this paddle!! It's sort of a funny story. I know NOTHING about pickle ball but I ordered this paddle for my husband who plays semi regularly. I decided during prime days to do something for him since he doesn't do anything for himself. I originally saw & was interested in some paddles that were sold in couples. I thought, hey, they're on sale basically two for one; so why not?? But then I started investigating & reading reviews. REVIEWS ARE ESSENTIAL & SO VERY HELPFUL!! I learned that those paddles were basically for beginners or novice players. Upon further review, I found that Selkirk was one of the top brands for experienced players. The first game with the new paddle, he and his partner won, 11-0. He likes the paddle's playability, touch and spin capabilities, and thinks it's a great fit for his game. Again, I cannot stress enough how important everyone's review's (you know, the ones who actually know something about the product; unlike me) are to make decisions on products. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Discovered this was one of the leading names in paddles & affordablility Grip: suitable for his game along with backhand shots Size: while it was a little larger than paddles he has used in the past, it was easy to adjust to. Spin: paddle surface is a little rough which allows him to put more spin on the ball; which he like A LOT Durability: so far so good; yet to be seen Feel: very comfortable Control: he prefers control over power & this is a perfect paddle for him

I will recommend this paddle for anyone who is new to the game and enjoys it enough to play for a good long while and if you have no real aspirations for being a pro player. If you are serious about playing, this isn’t the paddle for you. Most paddles under $200 probably aren’t for you either. Don’t let that mean that this isn’t a good paddle. It is. I have a few gripes about it, but none are dealbreakers. My gripes are that the sweet spot is a little inconsistent feeling, that there isn’t enough roughness to the paddle face to generate obnoxious levels of spin and that the handle shape isn’t exactly what I like. Beyond that, the paddle feels solid and I can’t say that I ever felt annoyed with it. I can still put spin on it, I can still swat the ball, I can still do what I do with every paddle while using this one. I did think of one other thing that is a bummer, to me. It didn’t come with a cover or sleeve or whatever the protective thing is called. Not a dealbreaker, but I think all paddles should come with one and give it some jazziness. To clarify what I mean by not taking the game seriously. I have zero interest in leagues and tournaments or rankings. I can and do play with people from various skill levels, but the game doesn’t matter to me to where I care about winning. I want to win, but it’s more about playing well and helping my partner play well or if I’m playing 1 on 2, being competitive in it and learning how to read people more. Anyways, not important. Solid paddle, does what paddles are supposed to do.

I just started playing pickleball a few months ago. What a great game. I have been using the paddles that are available as loaners to play with. I decided to look for an affordable paddle geared toward beginners but apparently can be used for anyone. Things I love about the paddle are the ease of use due to its light weight, the handle length and grip are nice as well. I have only used it a few games but so far so good! I think it’s a keeper!
