This 4th gen core not only sounds solid it is with a bigger sweet spot for powerful drives, top spin serves, volleys, rolls, flicks and smashes. It has a soft feel for placing slice dinks and top spin dinks. The 16 width is more powerful so you need lots of practice drills to feel the touch. I love this paddel!!! I used to pop up or hit faurly high but not anymore. It has changed my game. It is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. You can end up paying less but changing paddles in search of better play. In the end you will probably end up paying more. I did, and yhen I found this one. An expensive search. I purchased this item directly from Amazon (the Seller) and was surprised to find it priced $90 higher than the same product on another reputable website. When I raised this concern, I was told my feedback might not be useful to other buyers—I strongly disagree. If you don’t like the comments, don’t ask for a review. As for the racquet itself, I prefer my Diamond 6.0 in terms of overall performance. While spin is comparable between the two, the Joola lacks power. The 16mm thickness seems to deaden the feel of shots and offers a smaller sweet spot. Additionally, it’s a noticeably heavy racquet, which puts more strain on the arm and demands extra effort to swing—ultimately reducing reaction time. ... show more

The Joola Pro IV is an insane paddle that I have been using for many sessions. I would argue that the paddle is best for power and spin, but once you reign in that power and spin, I believe you can attain incredible control. Let me share more: Control: When it comes to control, the Joola Perseus Gen 4 is a standout. From my very first session dinking with a 4.0 DUPR friend, I noticed how consistently I could place the ball exactly where I wanted. The paddle’s carbon fiber face delivered a precise, predictable feel. While some brands chase an edgeless design, Joola opted for a slimmer edge guard, and I actually prefer it. It didn’t interfere with my shots and instead gave me a comfortable frame of reference, reinforcing the paddle’s surgical accuracy on soft game shots. Power: When my friend, already known for his strong serve, tried it, his shots became outright explosive. I experienced the same boost, even with the 16mm version, which I initially thought might sacrifice power for control. It didn’t. The Gen 4’s construction generates impressive pop without requiring overexertion, making it a legitimate contender for my list of the best paddles for power after testing more than 60 models. It’s a rare combination of power that feels both natural and easy to tap into. Spin: The spin potential on the Joola Perseus Gen 4 rivals top-tier paddles like the Volair Mach 2 Forza. My serves with right-to-left spin moved a good six inches from the drop point, while still maintaining significant pace. That’s not something every paddle can pull off. This level of spin control extends beyond serves to dinks, drops, and drives, giving it “Swiss army knife” versatility. Great paddle. But JOOLA is cheap-as-they come not to provide a cover for a paddle at that price. And the only JOOLA cover available just barely fits this paddle — with a bunch of tugging.

Noticeable difference from the cheaper paddles I normally use. Had a different brand power paddle previously but there was little control/touch. This one feels like a good balance between the two.
