Just a beginner so I didn’t want to break the bank in case it was just a phase. I played with people who had much more expensive paddles than me and they gave them the thumbs up. The paddles have held up and I like that it came with the bag. For a casual player I think the value exceeds the price.

Bought the Joola Essentials set (2 paddles, 2 balls, carrying case) on a Prime Day deal and it is a great value for the money. Even at regular price it would be a good deal. The paddles are much better than the cheap discount store paddles I bought previously. They have a good, solid feel to them and the grips are nice. I am sure if I progress to a more competitive level I will eventually want something with a bit more "pop," but for recreational play these are tough to beat for the money. ... show more

Purchased this as a used set. Items were in new to almost new condition. One of the paddles had a small dent on one side; however, it does not affect the performance. Very happy with purchase and saved quite a bit of $ buying used.

My mother got it for me and my husband. It feels good on hands. It is not heavy so it doesn’t make us get tired quickly. The balls are also good quality. Definitely recommend it for beginners.

We bought this for son’s birthday gift. He really likes it. It turned out to be a well made set for newbie to the sport. But, I suspect it would be suitable for an indeterminate player as well. The bag is nice to keep things organized.
