  • Great EV Charger for the Money
I’ve been extremely impressed with this IYILO hardwired EV charger. From the moment it was installed, it has worked flawlessly and delivers consistent, reliable charging every time. The build quality feels solid and well‑made, with a sturdy connector and thick cable that inspire confidence for long‑term use. Charging speeds are excellent for a hardwired Level 2 unit, and the charger performs exactly as advertised. I appreciate how simple and straightforward it is—no unnecessary complexity, just plug in and charge. The indicator lights are clear, and the unit runs quietly without overheating or error issues. Installation was smooth for an electrician, and once mounted it looks clean and professional. Compared to other chargers in this price range, this one offers outstanding value and performance. If you want a dependable, no‑nonsense EV charger that just works, this is a great choice. Highly recommended. Also, app is great - lets me monitor charging status, view charging history, and schedule charging sessions without hassle. The interface is clean and intuitive, and it connects reliably without frequent dropouts or glitches. ... show more

  • A very good EV Charger, Great price.
Color: Gray
I decided to purchase this charger after watching a review by Tom Moloughney from the State of Charge YouTube channel. I was in the market for a replacement because my previous EVSE failed in a very common way—the plastic clip that secures the connector to the vehicle broke. Unfortunately, that weak point seems to plague many chargers. One of the first things that sold me on the IYILO EVSE is that the locking clip is metal, not plastic like the one on my WolfBox charger. That makes a big difference for real-world use. Accidental drops or rough handling while charging (courtesy of my son) are far less likely to cause damage. Setup was straightforward. I went with the NEMA 14-50 plug-in version, and all it took was downloading the app, registering an account, and I was ready to charge. The app allows you to input your local costs for both scheduled charging and plug-and-charge sessions. The interface itself is fairly basic, but it provides all the essential information without unnecessary clutter. One standout feature—and a major reason I decided to try this unit—is its temperature monitoring. The charger includes temperature sensors for both the NEMA 14-50 plug and the vehicle connector. I haven’t seen this feature on other EVSEs, at least not at this price point. Even better, the unit doesn’t just display temperatures. If temperatures exceed safe thresholds, the charger first reduces power, and if the temperature doesn't decrease, shuts down until conditions return to acceptable levels. That’s an excellent safety feature and a meaningful safeguard against overheating and potential fire risks. Another feature I really appreciate is how the charger handles power outages. My previous unit would revert to standby mode after a power loss and fail to resume charging—an annoying surprise when you wake up to a vehicle that isn't charged. This EVSE automatically continues the charging session once power is restored. I can personally confirm this works: during a recent outage caused by downed power lines, the charger picked right back up when service was restored. Overall, I’m very happy with this unit. At $309, the price is extremely competitive, and the built-in overheat protection adds real peace of mind. My only hesitation is that IYILO is a relatively new company, so there isn’t much data on durability or customer service. That said, when my unit arrived without the RFID cards, I emailed support and had the issue resolved within a couple of hours—which is a very encouraging sign. Based on the combination of price, safety features, and real-world performance, I think this charger is an excellent value. The only real caveat is its limited track record due to the company’s age—but so far, my experience has been very positive. I will provide an update in a few months. ... show more

  • Extremely expensive set up if you want to make everything work
Color: Dark Grey
The product description is clearly misleading. The setup process is a complete nightmare. This charger is marketed as a 48 amp plug-in unit, but even with a 50 amp circuit breaker, it only delivers 40 amps. If you actually want to get the full 48 amps, you’re forced to hardwire it — yet no hardwiring hardware is included in the box, which is absurd as there’s the hardwire unit available with a whip. The configuration experience is just as bad. Pairing the device with the app is unnecessarily complicated, and the Wi-Fi connectivity is extremely unreliable. Be prepared to buy a Wi-Fi extender, even though every other device in my garage connects without any issues. To make matters worse, it only supports a 2.4 GHz network, which feels outdated and limiting. Load balancing and power sharing aren’t available out of the box either — you have to purchase additional hardware just to unlock these basic features. In the end, getting this charger to work properly turns into an expensive and frustrating process. You’ll likely need to buy a new outlet, pay a licensed installer, buy a Wi-Fi extender, and extra metering hardware just to achieve the functionality that should have been included from the start. Also, be careful with your utility’s criteria for rebates. This unit didn't qualify for my utility program, so no rebate. Finally, plugging the connector into the built-in holder is another challenge. The design is impractical if your parking space is away from the charger. ... show more

  • Easy to install - Works Great
Color: Dark Grey
We have two Kia PHEVS, a Niro and a Sportage. Even though they can't use more than 32 amps, I decided to get the 48-amp charger to give me more flexibility in the future, and especially since the cost to upgrade wasn't that much more. Rather than hardwire the unit, I had an electrician install a NEMA 14-50 plug in our garage which limits the maximum output to 40 amps. That is more than enough since our cars can't use more than 32. The 110 Wall chargers that came with cars take overnight to charge the cars. The level 2 charger takes only 2 hours. While you don't have to use the downloadable app I like that you can enter your KWH rate and the app will estimate and track the cost of the watts you use to charge your car. Since the app hooks to your wifi you can monitor from anywhere too. All in all I am very happy with my IYILO charger. ... show more
