This box is pretty good, it’s the first time I have bought one as I am a first time cat owner but it seems to be holding up well. My cat is a bit larger (12 lbs) so it is a tiny bit snug for him, he doesn’t like using the small door to go in. I have to open the bigger part that opens for him to use it but it’s not bad, he has no problem actually sitting in it. The whole top part doesn’t snap on so it can fall or be pushed off easily if it’s being played around a lot, but it’s not a problem for me and my cat doesn’t push it off while actually using it. The scooper is good too. It’s a tiny bit hard sometimes to clean out the litter as it has bumps on the bottom but it’s really not a huge deal. Overall it’s good and I would buy again. ... show more

One star off for the hood not clamping on tightly somehow, but doesn't seem to be a problem since I leave the hood folded up and I only have one adult cat. You'll just never be able to carry the whole thing by the handle on the top of the lid. Big plusses: The box is deep enough that litter doesn't go everywhere, and the grate comes off for easy box cleaning if you choose not to take the lid all the way off for that. I've read the reviews about the two bumps, etc., on the bottom of the box getting in the way of cleaning, but if you get one of the good clumping litter products and keep the litter at 3 or 4 inches deep, this should never be a problem. It also makes for much, much easier cleaning. Just scoop it every day. If you must use non-scoopable litter, just don't buy this box. There's a litter for sale on here (Boxicat) that promises the urine clumps on top and will not sink to the bottom of the box. I'm trying that one out now and will review at that product location. The included scoop is rather tiny, so ... Hint: Go to your nearest everything-for-a-dollar store or thrift shop and get a kitchen utensil called a skimmer. Yeah, works GREAT and is metal - so very sturdy! I purchased the large size litter box which has plenty of room; especially if you don't use the grate (but I do) and the sides are high enough that I probably don't even need the hood as far as litter scatter goes. I could have used the smaller box, so consider that unless your cat is quite large or you have multiples. I only ordered the large because reviews said the box was smallish. I chose to leave the front end of the hood folded up because my cat doesn't get the swinging door. This little entry door actually does swing freely and snaps away if you don't want to use it. I thought about doing that and leaving the hood all the way closed, but my cat is very active and until I tape the hood to the bottom of the box she'll keep knocking it off. ... show more

I don't currently have a picture of Drakos litter box. I purchased the large enclosed litter box because it gave my cat privacy and it had options you can easily lift up the front of it if your kitten or cat doesn't like using the door and the top comes right off so it's easy to clean. I clean my cellular box everyday and I change out the kitty litter about every week and a half, so I don't have to deal with unpleasant smells and neither does my cat. Even if you weren't to clean your kitty litter box that often or change the cat litter that often this litter box will aid in the prevention of unwanted smells. I also really like that it has the litter tracking deterrent bar, is has made a huge difference in the amount of kitty litter that is tracked. I have a designated carpet rug underneath the litter box so with that deterrent bar and that carpet the litter doesn't track from that area at all. This is the first time that I've ever purchased a litter box like this and I'm happy that I gave it a shot I will now always buy this type. My cat is now 5 months old and this litter box is a good size for him I will probably try to find a larger one and I would also suggest to have one litter box per cat, especially if you have an indoors only cat only like I do. The litter box is made out of a great material it's thick it's stable it's not flimsy whatsoever and I'm sure the type of kitty litter I use plays a part in this but there isn't stickiness or clumps at the bottom of the litter box, it's very easy to clean, and upkeep. - Skye ... show more

We've only had this for a few days, but my first impressions are not thrilled with this product. We've owned cats for 20 years, plus our childhood pets, so this isn't our first litter box rodeo. I chose this one because of the flip-open lid and the fact that the top is translucent to allow light inside. I also liked the idea of the grate inside, hoping it would help reduce scatter. Now that I have it, a few things stuck out as I pulled it out of the box and set it up. First, the bottom of the pan has formed shapes in it, it's not smooth like most boxes. If you're not using a liner, this is going to present some degree of issue when scooping and cleaning the box. Clumping litter would be miserable. Second, the flip-top doesn't go very far back. The lid doesn't flip open far enough to clean the box effectively, especially with the grate in place. Third, the lid doesn't snap onto the pan in any way. So far, this hasn't been a problem for our current cat, but an aggressive digger could easily knock it off the pan, and it won't help as much for holding a liner in place. A fourth point that I never even thought to check on when I read the description was that there is no slot for a carbon filter. We haven't always had a filter in place on our boxes, but if that's something important to you, pass on this one. A final note, the size isn't particularly roomy. It's not small, just average. With a single, average-sized cat this shouldn't be much issue. A larger cat will have to be a rather dainty bathroom user to be comfortable in this, especially with the grate in place. I wouldn't pick it for multiple cats, or cats who like a more generous landscape. All that said, it's a litter box. It holds litter, the cat uses it, I /think/ the grate helps reduce scatter, the hood stops the cat from throwing litter out every dang side of the box. But there are better boxes. ... show more
