I've never used a hair dye shampoo before, so I was interested to see how effective this dye would be and how long it would last. I appreciate that the smell was not as harsh as standard hair dyes and also did not make it uncomfortable on my scalp as I am very sensitive to chemicals. The product foamed up very nicely and there is a LOT left. I can't imagine how many actual uses I will get out of it, which is nice. The only reason I deducted a star instead of giving it 5 stars is because it only comes with 2 sets of disposable gloves. I am glad there are at least 2 sets in there, but since there are so many uses out of one bottle, there will be a lot more of the gloves needed. I wish there were more, at least for half the bottle. For convenience sake and that I'll have to purchase more disposable gloves, that is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. The other issue I found is that as I was rinsing off the dye and had left the bottle on the counter, some of the dye leaked out and made a mess on my counter. Hopefully it will all come out eventually and I did put the stopper back in just in case. I would highly recommend putting paper towels or cleaning rags underneath the bottle to prevent any leakage/messes from the spout. Overall, I think this is a great product and I'm happy with how soft my hair is after dying, not brittle or rough. I also love that the chemicals weren't harsh to smell or on my skin. It has a nice, vibrant black color.

I was going to give this product the worst review possible after the first use. I followed the instructions on the bottle which said "Wash with shampoo. Wait 5 minutes. Rinse with water." I did exactly that. After rinsing there was no difference whatsoever in my hair color, which was previously dyed auburn, and my grey edges and roots had grown out. I decided to look at the product here once more and read what the seller had to say about it. I saw that they said to leave it on for 10 to 20 minutes, so I gave it another try. After leaving it on for 20 minutes my hair was completely black, no more auburn, no more grey roots or edges. I am absolutely amazed at the results. This is hands down the best dye I have ever used and I have been dying my hair in various colors for many years. I love how there is no mixing like every other dye product I have used, and how there is no staining of my hands or skin. It will, however, stain sinks and tubs if you happen to get some of this product on them as I did. It left my hair feeling soft and moisturized. I love how it is as simple as shampooing your hair to apply this. I HIGHLY recommend this product for a better way to color your hair. I can't say enough good things about this product. I don't know how long the grey coverage will last as it has only been day one of dying my hair, but this day I am extremely impressed with this hair dye.

I feel very psyched at the thought of growing gray hair and was hesitant to dye it. Now that I found this product which is herbal and safe, I am willing to try it. I haven't used it yet but when I do, I will come back to report it how it turned out on me.

I've taken a long time to post my review for this because you're supposed to use it over time to see the effects. I'm not really sure if it is working. I'm not totally grey but I have dyed my hair black. I've used other shampoos that are black and are supposed to keep the black dye nice and dark. They are really messy shampoos and I don't think they ever really helped. This shampoo is not as messy as the other stuff I got at Sally's, which is made by Punky Hair, I think. I was hoping this would be better and with more natural ingredients. However, I don't think it has done much difference and it doesn't seem to be overly natural in its ingredients.

This hair dye shampoo actually does a pretty good job at covering greys. It's a much quicker option than regular hair dying and I love that I can apply it in my hair within 10 minutes and let it sit for a short amount of time. It is a great option if you're short on time. The smell is definitely strong and not that great and the scent takes a long time to wash out of your hair. Overall, I like this dye because its convenient and quick.

✍️ I was pleasantly suprised by the effectiveness of this product. I like the simplicty of this product. I was able to shampoo my hair, leave it lathered for five minutes, then wash it off. The first time I used it, the dye covered the left side of my head well. The right side was slightly darker, but I can still see lots of gray compared to the left side. I think it's because the dye and shampoo are mixed in layers. When I'm in the shower, I can't see how much dye is applied so it just happened that there was more dye on one side of my head first time. After a second wash, I was able to darken both sides of my head evenly. The aroma of this shampoo reminds me of a subtle paint paste. It's not strong. It's not awful. A clean fresh smell would be preferred if that was available. I would recommend having a mirror in the shower or a way to see the shampoo coverage just so you can avoid having to do multiple washes to dye your hair. Overall, I'm happy with the performance of this product.
