For reference, I am Asian, have long medium fine hair down to my upper ribs, and my roots were about 1.5-2” in dark brown while the rest of my hair was a warm brownish copper faded bayalage. I recently tried the garnier oil hair color and my hair felt awful after and the color faded super fast. The ends of my hair were split and white. I also noticed it didn’t darken my hair all the way, there were lots of spots that were lighter where they were bleached before. So I did what any sane woman and first lightly trimmed my hair. Then I got to business. I’ve been eyeing this hair dye on Amazon and took the lunge just because my roots were so bad. There are reviews saying that they needed multiple boxes for medium short hair so I got 3 boxes for short hair because well, it arrived the next day and I wanted an at home glow up over the weekend. (Seriously- laminated my brows, dermaplaned, tanned, filed my nails, overnight face mask everything) I followed the directions and then I actually processed for 45 minutes because of my bleached parts(that’s what was recommended for grey coverage so why not) I shampooed with a gentle nonstripping shampoo and did a hair mask, then applied Wow gloss spray and gave myself a blowout. And just.. STUNNING!!! Seriously. It looked just like I came out of the salon. Everything was one color and just so glossy, shiny and soft. The color was deep and had a warmth but not overly just like the box. I couldn’t stop touching my hair. I did only use two boxes. I felt like I should honestly quit my job and become a hairdresser after that. (Not really, but I was like dang girl you did that!) I would recommend to anyone. It is a splurge, but you get what you pay for.

This is a rich deep brown color that lasts several weeks before gradually fading. No ammonia odor, does not damage hair. The main reason I buy it, though, is that it is low in amines. There have been case reports of spontaneous detached retinas in women using hair coloring with high amount of amines.

Was very excited to get this on cyber Monday, it’s expensive but is the best hair dye kit I’ve ever used and the color is so vibrant. Couple it with a really good color treated hair shampoo and it lasts! I have been using the volcanic black for about a year and am hooked. I got 2 for 42 bucks on the cyber Monday deal. I’m willing to pay the 32 a box normally because it’s worth it but was so excited to get the deal!! Fast shipping, no complaints at all!

Amazing, brilliant blue black color that has a good shine. It doesn’t smell strange and really felt good on my hair. I have super thin, fine hair and I didn’t use the whole bottle, but it covered wonderfully and the color held well. It didn’t wash out, it more faded after a long time and it faded into a blackish color. The only con was that it struggled to cover my few super stubborn greys, but they are super, super stubborn.

Doesn't color my skin, only hair. I've had very aggressive hair dyes before and the color would seep into my skin. This color ever so slightly makes a little mark if touching the skin but it disappears right after only one wash. Other hair dyes would touch my skin and it stayed there for weeks! This one doesn't do that. It's really gentle. It's clean. It smells good. This hair dye feels healthier than any other hair dye I've ever used in my entire lifetime. The price is worth it. It covers greys effectively. The color 4N was lighter than expected but it's all good I liked it.

Color: Intense Fuchsia
Removed all previous color on my hair. Put this color on blonde hair and it turned more red than fuchsia. It is still a pretty color but wanted more fuchsia color than red.Started fading very bad within a week. Even know I used cool water and only wash every couple days. Not impressed for the price.
