I've been consistently using the same shade of IGK hair color for years, but my recent experience with a new package was quite disappointing. The developer was packaged in a bag, and unfortunately, the product leaked out into it. I wondered if the manufacturer changed their packaging. Despite finding this unusual, I decided to proceed with the application. Regrettably, that turned out to be a mistake. In an attempt to salvage the leaked developer, I followed the instructions to mix the color and developer together and applied it to my hair. Around 20 minutes into the processing time, I checked the color, only to discover it had taken on a strange dark orangy-green hue. Undeterred, I continued processing for the recommended 40 minutes. Upon rinsing the color out, I noticed that my hair was darker than usual, but that was something I could live with, assuming it would correct itself in the next touch-up in a few weeks. However, after washing and styling, I observed that my hair appeared fried, with excessive hair loss. Strands were falling out in alarming quantities, and I've even developed a couple of bald spots at my hairline. Initially, I attributed the hair loss to the changing seasons here in Arizona, but after several weeks, considering the worsening condition of my hair, I am genuinely concerned about the contents of the developer bottle. My hair has become extremely dry, frizzy, and laden with split ends, making it challenging to even comb through. Given this experience, I've decided never to order my hair color through Amazon again. I suspect the possibility of tampering with the hair color kit I received, which has resulted in significant damage to my hair.

The first photo gives you an idea of my hair color before dying it as well as the length. I chickened out last minute and decided to have my hair stylist color my hair for me. I should have purchased three boxes because two boxes did not cover all of my hair. The red reminds me of the color red Brie had on Desperate Housewives. It feels like a natural color and I do think it covered really well considering that we ran out of color towards the ends of my hair. My hair feels really healthy, silky, and soft. She used her own conditioner as well as the conditioner that came in the box. I didn’t have any hair color on my hair. The first photo is my natural hair color which I describe as a blonde with red undertones. I’be never been a full on red head, I’m getting used to the color so I can’t say that I’d purchase this particular color again, but I’m overall satisfied with the brand. I’m interested to see what it’ll look like as it fades in. The pictures I posted were taken right after I walked out of the salon. But so far my husband and mom and best friend say they love the color on me 😊

I saw some really negative reviews so I kept passing this up. I'm really glad I finally did. I have fine, thin-ish curly hair. ●one box was enough for me ●the color is pretty! ●It didn't cover all the gray but I didn't leave it on the whole 45 minutes because I was worried about damage. ●next time I'll do the whole 45 minutes in my roots. And just do 5 on the colored part as a refresher. ●next time I'll use my bowl and brush instead of the bottle. It's think and it's hard to know of it's being dispensed evenly. ●I went a shade lighter and I'm glad. The 9GV Olsen came out like 8 at the roots. NO Brassiness!! I pull red and this lifted correctly. ●Lastly, my hair did feel dry when I washed it but the conditioner they give you is good. I don't know how much damage it will or will not be. I'll report back after a month with a picture to tell yall if the color lasts. ●I had some toner on hand in case it pulled red or it wasn't golden enough. I didn't use it yay! ●I will buy this again.

To preface, i am a licensed cosmetologist, but moved to a rural area no where near any hair supply stores and not currently doing hair. I am a natural strawberry blonde, born ginger, and faded to coppery blonde. With that being said, I have balayaged my hair several times and have a lot of grown out blonde that I was tired of. I’ve bought box dyes before that were labeled strawberry blonde/ lightest blonde copper, lightest auburn, and they all turned my hair pumpkin orange or fire truck red. Let me tell you, if you have a blonde base, this color will come out EXACTLY as what’s on the box. It’s beyond perfect! It is a tad brighter than my roots which I expected, but it blends perfectly and I’m sure after a few washes it’ll be toned down some. The kit came with everything you need! I have thick, curly hair past my shoulders and the bottle would not have been enough if I needed to do all my hair. I used it on my blonde only so I was good. I am just so excited to finally have found a color that matches my natural color!
