I love the color itself so I gave 4 stars, however I was really disappointed when I opened the box. The twist top to the activator bottle was not screwed on all the way and at some point in shipping had leaked into the bag. I decided to use it anyway because it didn’t look like it had lost too much product. In hindsight I probably should have returned it for a new one because it barely covered all of my hair. I have long but very thin, fine hair. So if your hair is thick at all I would order two boxes. Also the conditioner they give for after coloring is very minimal. Overall for the price point I’m not thrilled with the product, but again the color is lovely.

I’d would have given it 5 stars but I wanted a light brown but if your hair is porous it is way darker. The good thing was it was easy to use and my hair was very silky.

Color: FRENCH RIVIERA (Light Beige Brown 6AG)
I’ve been dying my hair for 20+ years. I’ve used everything from prepackaged color to hand mixing custom professional tint & developer. I’m old and lazy, so it’s boxed color most of the time. First time using IGK and I picked a color one shade lighter(6AG) hoping to get a shade match to Clairol Age Defy 5A. I did a strand test and it looked like match. When time came to do my color, I found the mixed product to be thicker than expected & using a squeeze bottle was not ideal. This stuff was developed to be applied with a brush & it shows. (When I use Igora Color, I add extra developer to improve flow out of a bottle) In spite of choosing level 6 instead of the desired 5, The final color was WAY darker than expected. I wanted light brown, but what I got was almost black (level 4) with a weird purple/mahogany tint. In spite of processing for the recommended 45 minutes, my mostly grey roots still came out a shade lighter than the rest of my hair. I did manage to get the shade I wanted (light Ash Brown) by mixing 2 Parts DIRTY BLONDE (Dark Beige Blonde 7VG) with 1 Part FRENCH RIVIERA (Light Beige Brown 6AG) to lighten it. I like the resulting color, but to be fair, if I'm going to be mixing shades every time I color my hair, then it would be much more economical to just buy tubes of professional permanent color and mix with a separate developer. ($15 as opposed to $60 for the IGK) Overall I like the gentle formula and the final condition of my hair, but IGK colors don’t look natural & the results unpredictable, so my search continues. My advice when trying IGK for the first time is to start with 2 shades lighter than the desired final result. You can always go darker next time. In my case, I stripped out the embarrassingly dark color using COS Color Remover and redid my color with 7VG. The result was closer to the light brown shade I was looking for, but not the Dark Blond written on the box. Update: The Violet/Gold tones in the 7VG shade had washed out the first week and the color had been shifting more orange with subsequent shampoos necessitating a recolor with the two blended shades listed above. That combination, although darker brown, is also turning to a shade of orange. I’ve changed my rating from three stars to just two.

Color: OLD HOLLYWOOD (Warm Mahogany Blonde 7GM )
but not quite the color I was looking for. I looked at the colors on the package, it looked like it would be the brown I wanted and the name Old Hollywood was good it said Mahogany warm Blond! I should have known by seeing Mahogany that it might be to dark red but the from the pictures and blond I didn't think it would turn out quite so red over my brunette and blond highlights. I thought it would just be a warmer brown on my brown and my highlights would pick up the mahogany blond! Didn't work. It's all pretty brown/red with my blond highlights redder! Rally, my mistake I should know that Mahogany is a dark red. However, my hair is very soft and very shinny!

Color: MOON DANCE (Darkest Blue Black 1B)
I just dyed my hair and it looks great! And soooo soft after using their repair mask for 5 minutes. I think along as you follow their directions your hair will turn out great. My hair is naturally black and I used the blue/black color dye it came out as just black for me although maybe once out in the sun I'll get a better look at the possible blue presence. Either way I wanted my hair black and this color just was available for faster delivery than their regular black. I'll see after a few weeks how long it lasts. I expect it should last like a month before my few greys start popping out but I'll see.

The color kit is more extensive and nicer than any other color kit I’ve used. The colors are rich and they cover my now-grey hairs well along the hairline. The kit arrived damaged however. I was pretty determined to color my hair that day, so I scraped all the developer out of the pkg and used it anyway. Now I order directly from the manufacturer.

I am someone who washes their hair a max of 2 maybe 3 times a week, i have naturally wavy hair, so that routine works best for me, so in saying that, in this product it says starts to fade with 7 washes... more like 4, it didn't hold in my hair for long, because by the time I was on my 4th wash of the month it had already started fading pretty significantly. I also want to preface i have been dying my hair since i was 15 and am now 29, not a professional by any means but i can tell when a color product just isnt worth it. My hair has never had a issue holding color, not when I was platinum, brunnette, red head or had black underneath my blonde, so holding color has never been a issue. So in my opinion the price of this box, the "longevity" and the amount within, I'm gonna have to give it 3 stars. Did it make my hair feel nice? Yes. Did the color look amazing at first? Yes. Is this price worth it? No, especially if you have alot of hair like i do and have to spend $50 for two boxes. You could go to sallys beauty, buy two color boxes, 8 ounces of 20 volume, the brush and bowl to mix, and a after care packet and it'll last way longer, may be a slight more expensive then a box of this but atleast in a week you won't be having to buy dye supplies again to retouch cause the color fades.

There was no harsh smell and it didn’t bother my scalp at all. I was excited to try this based off of reviews saying the color comes out how it’s supposed to. I had not colored my hair in over a year.. The color… well my hair turned strawberry blonde and I started with dirty blonde…. Not excited about the results.
