I have found that Hydrow a bit pricey, but well worth the money. It is sturdy enough for my 250 pound, 6' 3" body to fully extend. The engineering seems top notch. The hardware, software, and the subscription support keeps me focused liike no other exercise activity. The coaching is superb. I have a back problem, but the system is helping to strengthen it along with my respiratory system. The only minor complaint I might have is that the seat can allow slipping off the back, if you are not aware. Other than that, I find this system to be great!     • AWESOME MACHINE - BLOWS CONCEPT 2 OUT OF THE WATER
I am an eight year crew parent, so when it came to getting my own rowing machine, I was initially biased toward a Concept 2. Two of my kids used the Concept 2 and I used a Concept 2 at the gym. The HYDROW BLOWS AWAY THE CONCEPT 2. The seat is more comfortable. The training videos add variety, add exercises (like pausing at different points in the stroke like rowers do when training on the water) and frankly solve for the boredom and monotony that often come with just rowing a Concept 2 and staring at the wall. This machine is both more fun and a better workout than a Concept 2. You also get connected to an online community which adds healthy competition and motivation for those who are into that. The only way to use this is to put your credit card info in the the machine. Even if you go online to purchase the membership, it will still require you to input your credit card info. I almost sent the machine back.

    • Good equipment
I very much enjoy this machine. As an older person living in a colder climate, outdoor fitness isn’t always an option. I can get a full body workout with minimal preparation and not get bored as they have both programmed rowing as well as freestyle on the water videos. Nice machine but it is big!

    • Outstanding rower - expensive membership
Great rower in nearly all regards. Only wish they would have some more adjustability features for feet position and seat as one of their competitor does. Seat could a bit more comfortable as well, but that’s easily fixed with a thin pad on top. Assembly wise, this is by far the easiest one. Took 30 mins end-to-end by myself. (20 mins for unpacking and 5 mins for software update). It’s super smooth and surprisingly quieter than expected. Took 1 star off because of the $44/mo membership. Content is great but cost is nearly double compared to other options. Additionally, in row mode alone, it doesn’t keep track of progress (need membership for that as well). ... show more

So far I am really enjoying this rower. I had never owned a rowing machine, but had done a lot of research and felt like this was the right exercise for me. The Hydrow came very well packed, and was fairly easy to assemble. The thing _is_ very heavy, so I suggest getting help. Especially when installing the legs, which were a bit awkward to attach without a strong person assisting. The on-line video trainers are all really good, and they definitely do motivate you to keep going and accumulate more meters. I hope to hit my first 100,000 meters in a few weeks. ... show more

    • Finally Something That Keeps me Working Out!
I have been struggling with bad knees and needed something to help me get in shape. I had never used a rowing machine before but have really enjoyed my Hydrow. It is a great workout and easy on my knees. I didn’t expect to like the interactive online part of Hydrow, but I can honestly say it is the only reason I have been able to keep at it for almost 2 months now. I love the “progress” screen where I can see my stats and the live leader board where I can see where I am at compared to others. One final thing, I did have one small problem with the seat. I called support and they immediately shipped me a new seat, free of charge. Great product! ... show more
