    • Great HP printer/awful HP support
This HP printer is exactly what I wanted -- monochrome, laser print, compact, efficient. So 5 stars for the printer! But I wasted two days following the enclosed HP booklet instructions for connecting the printer to my MacBook using an HP downloaded app (it didn't work), searching for an HP phone support # (I finally found it on the Amazon product page!), and following further useless instructions from an HP phone support agent for 2 hours. I finally hung up and repacked the printer for return to Amazon. Then I learned about Apple AirPrint, which was already present on my computer. I unpacked the printer, deleted the HP app and successfully connected the printer in less than a minute with AirPrint. I wish I could give HP support zero stars. ... show more

    • Worse junk than the last one
I bought this HP printer to replace a previous printer that would no longer connect wirelessly, stopped scanning, and got erratic about feeding paper. The one prior to that had also gotten to the point it was erratic about feeding paper but it was about 9 years old so no serious complaint about that one. Since I also bought a color printer which scanned, I bought this basic printer. It will not connect wirelessly and it locks up print jobs. If I wait 10 minutes it will start the print job about half the time. The rest of the time I have to go in and try to pause, restart or cancel the job and usually shut off the print spooler. That works about half the time. The rest of the time I have to shut down the printer and the laptop and restart everything in order to clear the print job. And yes, I know how to set up a printer wirelessly - I've done it several times. Frankly I have been quite disappointed in HP products of late. I won't buy another and when I use up the print cartridges I have I will probably just junk this one and buy a competitor product. One star is too high a rating for this product. Edit to add that it not only was refusing to print again without a 20 minute fight, my other printer (HP8010) decided that it could no longer connect which took about a 1/2 hour of fooling with to rectify but then decided it wasn't going to allow the document feeder to work which I just gave up on. Definitely no more HP printers. ... show more

    • Easy setup, compact and laser print quality. NOT BAD for the price
So far, so good! Setup was a breeze (just 3 minutes), with good Wi-Fi detection and average laser print quality. It’s very compact and, surprisingly, not an eyesore ... which is saying a lot for a printer.

Being familiar with older Laser printers, I was pleasantly surprised at how compact this printer is. Smooth operation, excellent print quality. I did have my Son, who is in the Printing Industry, circumnavigate the HP setup, which includes a paid subscription. Airprint works seamlessly.

My old canon printer finally stopped working properly so it was time to find something new. The reviews on printers were so mixed and I couldn't decide on one until I came across this HP printer. The only down for me is that it doesn't print in color, in case I need it. But honestly, all my previous printers never printed correctly in color anyway so I don't feel like I'll miss out on anything. The set up on this was ridiculously easy and printing is every easier. I was able to send a link to my family members so they can easily connect as well. It isn't exactly quiet but it prints so quickly and doesn't take up much space at all.
