    • Very simple and cheap, you get what you pay for
I have to agree with other customers here, the print quality is not great, and the print is very faint. if I want thick black ink I will continue to use my ink printer. The plastic is flimsy, this could easily break. The print speed is very good, but the print quality is barely ok. Faint and not very sharp. The Linux software, HPLIP, is pretty poor. It installs the printer twice, but both of them work, you can use either one. The test print doesn't work, but the test print from cups works just fine. I think this is actually just a GUI interface for cups. I print from the command line anyway, so this doesn't bother me, but it's not great software to begin with, very buggy, but not in a way that it affects me. Printing via cups from the command line works just fine. I got mine as a special for 99 bux, and for that price it's a good deal. If it weren't cheap I would be disappointed and return it. For 99 bux it's a good deal, I have plenty of low-quality stuff to print fast from the command line. ... show more

The printer works very nice! I did try calling Amazon & it's like talking to the wall. When I first looked at this printer it was $99.00, I had my son come over a couple days later to review the printer before ordering, when I went to order it was $129.00. I decided to go a head but right after I ordered about a day or so I checked & the printer price was $99.00. I feel I should be credited the difference as this is not fair. I am a Prime Member and got no where with Amazon as they just beat around the bush. I am almost 70 and only receive Social Security.     • DON'T DO IT!
Lets begin with installation. I wanted to buy a cheap solid printer, a simple plug and play. I am a Brother brand fan for life but decided I should not be negative and give this HP a shot, boy do I regret it. This printer will not install via a USB. To install this printer they force you to register, download their app on your phone, and connect your phone via blue tooth to their printer. They manage to wiggle their way into your cell phone and then of coarse send you all kinds of notifications to sell you their stuff (think of how invasive that is). Once installed it is buggy, it does not print instantly, it is a slow. Sometimes it just will not print at all and then at midnight it prints and wakes me up of course. If you go to get tech support good luck trying to speak to a human being you get the dummest Ai in history. So no luck with tech support, so I tried to reinstall it and reinstall it 3 times, same problem. In conclusion I am going to go and buy me a real printer a Brother I can plug and play and will work. My last one lasted over 15 years. This beauty is going to the ranch so I can take out all my frustrations with it and its stupid brand. It will become target practice for my AR15. Once I unload a few clips on it ill feel much better about loosing the 100 bucks I spent and I bet I ill at least like the brand for target practice. ... show more

I don’t print enough to prevent my ink cartridge's from drying out so this is a perfect solution. I was told the laser cartridge should last me about two years. You do not have to sign up for HP’s ink program. But you have to be very careful during setup to avoid sighing up. They make several attempts and are very tricky but it works just fine without their ink program. It’s about the simplest printer out there with no frills. ... show more

I had this setup in minutes. I've seen the reviews on the poor tech support, but I found this a breeze to set up so not needing any additional support. Print quality is great, not a fast printer, but perfect for light use and small spaces.
