This might not be the most powerful or feature packed salt chlorine generation system I've tried but it *is* one of the most compact and easiest to install. Keep in mind that I am highly experienced in doing pool work and installation--particularly with salt chlorine systems. If you're not as well versed, you might want to get a professional to do it or at the very least call the company's tech support line. Basically, this little unit does the same thing as other salt chlorine generator systems. By adding a little bit of salt to the water you're able to convert the chloride to chlorine. This is a natural process and that provides a significant benefit. It's much more gentle than the harsh chloride that you remember from your childhood. Additionally, it allows you to reduce much of the cost of your pool chemicals making it a value proposition from the get go. You get super clear and clean water that is much easier on skin and hair and represents a nice savings over chemical additives. In addition, this 40,000 gallon system represents one of the best cost to performance propositions I've seen in this type of product. It's extremely small, compact and self contained. It weighs just 7 pounds and you can keep track of the salt levels and other important information via the on-board LED screen and compatible smartphone app. Personally, I use them both. The system remembers your settings in the event of a power failure and you get a warning when you need to replace your salt cell. It's a highly functional salt generation unit, only in a compact package at a value price point. Highly recommended!
