Ordered this with my 83 year old mom in mind. She's always cold in our mountain home! She's also British and I think hot water bottles are pretty common from that time and place. This is a great hour water bottle! Good thickness. Great pour spout that is easy to put water from the kettle into because it's wide and has enough stiffness to make pouring easy. No leaks. I was worried about hot water leaking out of these but no issues at all. The sweater sleeve is cute and if you do very hot just boiled water it does stay hot in there for a while. I got this for my husband for Valentines Day as he’s become a fan of hot water bottles after trying mine, and this one was cute with its heart “sweater.” It’s durable so far and stays warm well. As others have mentioned, the initial off-gas smell is pretty strong. My husband mainly uses it to warm his side of the bedding on chilly evenings before climbing in, so it wasn’t as noticeable as if he had it up next to him rather than under the sheets. The smell has really subsided, but I imagine it may still off gas, just less noticeably, for awhile, so just something to be aware of. Otherwise very happy with this purchase. ... show more

Works as expected. I realize these are meant for upset stomachs or backaches but my wife and I like to use them on winter nights while watching TV instead of having the heat cranked up. Great on cold winter nights even if you're not sick!

Exactly what I was looking for--an old fashioned hot water bottle with a cozy, cheery cover. The hot water bottle is sturdy and hasn't leaked yet. It stays hot for a good long time. The cover is soft and cozy. I haven't needed to wash it yet so I'm not sure how it will hold up but I'm happy so far.
