This was a great after surgery recovery gift. Super soft and easy to understand how it works. It didn't have a weird plastic smell or any surprise rough spots in the seams. The price was spot on for the size of the item and I was told that it kept the bed and cat warm for half the night.

I would like to steal this adorable little guy from my kid after he opens him up on Christmas. This guy is so cute and soooo soft. The gentle weight is comforting and I know that my son will use a warmed up Ash on his sore muscles after soccer games and practices. If you are on the fence about purchasing, these are well worth the cost and well made. There is a slight manufacturer smell but I took the guy out of the plastic to let him air out when I unboxed him. By the time Christmas comes he won’t have a scent. I haven’t washed him so I cannot comment on that but I think the wash ability would fine. I would half dry him in the dryer and then air dry him out afterwards and then brush him out to maintain the softness. The axolotl is adorable, there is no doubt about that! This is a great size for a child snuggle at bedtime too. The quality of material is great. The insert must be removed in order to warm it up, which is easy to do and my kids are able to do so themselves. It is soft, thick and very soothing! However, it smells. The insert smells awful, truly. We have sprayed it with a lavender, calming spray which helps tremendously but just know the initial odor is intense. These are absolutely amazing. I bought two over them one for each of my daughters, they love them. They take the bean bag out throw it in the microwave for a minute take it out and put it back in the Axolotl. Then once a week we take the beans out and wash their animal.
