The media could not be loaded. I actually put this up in hopes I could sit outside while it was raining, as I live in the PNW and rain is more frequent than sun. It did work great in the sun too, but today we're having a good rain and it works a treat! I'm out here working and it's completely dry underneath. I did get hardware to attach and ended up having to use the cord temporarily, because I wanted to attach the shade underneath the eaves to make sure no water got through, and once I did that it was a little too far from the rail to attach with the hooks. but I plan on getting chain eventually (and adjusting the bracket location to make the shade a little more taut). Worth noting that I do have it at a pretty deep angle since it's going directly from roof line to railing, so there's no way for water to pool.

Not the easiest to install. Must be where you can lower the long side low enough so water does not pool when it rains. Connectors look great. Pre-measure where you want it to install to be sure you have a place where you can lower the front side, the long side low enough for water not to pool. Materials are tough. Wish I had bought a larger size. Materials are strong.

This waterproof sail awning is a mixed bag. On the positive side, it does an excellent job of providing shade and protection from the sun's rays, making outdoor spaces much more comfortable during hot summer days. The fabric is durable and effectively blocks UV rays, creating a cooler and more pleasant environment. However, there's a significant drawback when it comes to rain protection. If the awning is not angled correctly, it can create a water pocket that collects rainwater. As the pocket fills, the added weight causes the fabric to sag and distort, leaving an unsightly belly that is difficult to remove. This issue can potentially compromise the awning's structural integrity over time. If you live in an area with frequent heavy rainfall, I would not recommend this product. The water pocket issue can become a recurring problem, leading to frustration and potentially damaging the awning. On the other hand, if you primarily intend to use the awning for sun protection and enjoy the occasional breeze, it can be a good investment. The fabric does an admirable job of blocking the sun's heat and creating a comfortable outdoor space. In summary, this waterproof sail awning excels at providing shade and improving outdoor temperatures, but its performance in rainy conditions can be problematic if not set up perfectly. Great shades. For my particular application, they are not sloped enough to dump water so they build a bowl of water in the middle. Not the products issue, as they are very nice. But if you are a flatter or less sloped application know they will fill up.

This was lovely for 2 days until we got a light rain. Rain pooled up inside of it and stretched it out permanently. It also did not stop 100% of the rain and water streamed through the pooled spots, soaking everything beneath. If you need it for a single day then this might work for you, but this is not a good long-term solution.
