Once assembled the shade works very well with great adjustability to block the sun. Only been up a couple of weeks but appears sturdy and well made. The assembly instruction are terrible. Took me two times to have the correct orientation of the shade where it slides into the roller (so take a careful look and make sure it is correct). This is a very good awning at a good price. It was easy to install and looks great. The size is perfect for the stoop area of our cabin. It is a sturdy awning that works well in multiple situations.

This retractable shade awning is surprisingly easy to put together. The instructions are difficult to follow with tiny tiny details that are very easy to miss but there are not that many pieces to this awning so figuring out what goes where is not that difficult. The overall build quality is respectable, it has a very smooth operation when you are turning the built in crank. This awning looks better then I was expecting, it also provides a good level of shade when it is lowered. The only item that I found annoying is the adjustable notches, if the space you are wanting to use it in does not fit the sizes the awning comes with you are in trouble. I had to add anchors to the side of the structure and zip tie the awning to the anchors, because the leg height options were either to short or to tall. Assembling the awning took me about 1 hour and install took another 30 minutes. You will need a second pair of hands when you are installing the awning, one person on their own is going to find it to fussy and difficult to manage. One person can assemble the awning however. This awning is good value for your dollar, I have seen ones that are three times the price of this one that are terrible compared to this awning. This awning surprised me, it is nicer then I was expecting and looks much better then I was expecting. So all up I am pleased with this dark grey retractable awning. ... show more

So this is a nice product to have and is built pretty well and extends out the width of my back deck on my home. It looks good and is great for very sunny days when you want some shade or if it’s slightly raining. Now, technically it is meant to be installed where it can be pushed up against the awning lip. However, my back deck doesn’t have that so I used mounting clamps to mount it to the back of my home. It does not come with mounting hardware, which was kind of a bummer. But nonetheless, it’s sturdy built well and functions good. I like the color that I chose, but I believe you can choose other colors and the price is good. ... show more

    • Great Awning; get the video for installation

This is a very well-built strong awning that is somewhat easy to assemble. Since I don't speak French or German I found online a video in English that showed how to assemble it. My Son and I had it up and in place within forty-five minutes. I like that it is portable and can be moved. I've had to retract the awing a couple of times because of high winds and storms. If you don't have the right pitch for water to run off it will accumulate on the awing. I like that it is UP-50 and UV resistant as well as waterproof. It will stand up to rain showers well if the pitch is right but not strong winds, heavy rain, or snow. Except for the foreign instructions, I'm well pleased with this awning. ... show more
